  1. They work. Easier to load than a wood stove. Many have a hopper to feed them so you only have load them a couple times a day.  And unlike a coal stove the ash is harmless.  Consider listing it on Craigslist or other community websites

  2. Like some others here I had a tragic boating accident losing the few that I had, and I was uninsured. I have never recovered from my loss. I am hoping Obama will issue an executive order offering affordable gun insurance before he leaves office so others don't needlessly suffer like I and my family have.  Those of you who believe in socialist redistribution please send me a message letting me know what you have to offer so I and my family are no longer defenseless and unable to exercise our 2nd Admendment rights.

  3. I liked the suggestion of the folding chair bag and many of these have a shoulder strap.  Then you could also use one of the thicker gun socks such as BoreStore  inside it to add a little protective cushioning and to help breakup the outline.

  4. I pray for God's blessings to be upon Tommy, and your family.  That His peace and comfort will be felt by all, and that His provision be well beyond your expectations.  I ask this Father in the name of Your son and our Savior Jesus Christ.

    Please let us know how this turns out that we may know how to continue to pray and to give Him thanks and glory for His good deeds and His faithfulness.

  5. Think about recoil.  The vast majority of us shoot better the lower the recoil.  Personally I would lean towards a 270 which will be good for up to and including elk. The .30-30 is also a great choice and it is good out to 200 yards, especially with Hordany Leverevolution ammo but I would lean towards a used Marlin with the "JP" proof mark on the barrel near the action as the quality is generally better than the newer ones.

  6. I recently bought the LEM #8 Big Bite, but have not used it yet.  It has a 5 yr warranty,  gets decent reviews, has all metal gears, which I have read is important. I believe there is generally a direct correlation between how much the grinder actually weighs and its power and durability.

  7. I would consider carrying mace in MD

    I have heard the following are MD laws but do not know if these are factually correct:

    it is illegal to carry anything that could be used as a weapon.

    Baltimore City it is illegal to carry a knife.

    Maximum knife length is 3".

    If you are traveling into or through Washington DC: I have heard that it is illegal to carry mace in Washington DC without a permit. Cartridges, empty casings, bullets, magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds are all illegal and they will prosecute you unless you work for the media or are a Congressman or Senator.

  8. You might read this from the NRA:  https://www.nraila.org/gun-laws/state-gun-laws/maryland/

    Carrying and Transportation in Vehicles

    It is unlawful for any person without a permit to wear or carry a handgun, openly or concealed, upon or about his person.  It is also unlawful for any person to knowingly transport a handgun in any vehicle traveling on public roads, highways, waterways or airways, or upon roads or parking lots generally used by the public. This does not apply to any person wearing, carrying or transporting a handgun within the confines of real estate owned or leased by him, or on which he resides, or within the confines of a business establishment owned or leased by him.

    Rifles and shotguns being transported in motor vehicles must be unloaded.

    A person may transport a handgun if they can demonstrate that the handgun is being carried, worn or transported:

    • To or from a place of legal purchase or sale, or repair shop;
    • Between a person’s bona fide residences, or between his residence and place of business, if the business is operated and substantially owned by that person;
    • While engaged in, or traveling to and from a target shoot, formal or informal target practice, sport shooting event, hunting, trapping, or dog obedience training class or show; or
    • By a bona fide gun collector who is moving any part or all of his gun collection from place to place for public or private exhibition.

    During transportation to and from the above places the handgun must be unloaded and carried in an enclosed case or enclosed holster.  An additional penalty is provided for any person convicted of unlawfully wearing, carrying or transporting a handgun, if his deliberate purpose was to injure or kill another person.

    I suggest you know where and have in writing the location(s) of ranges.  There is one in Timonium MD just north of Baltimore called Continental Arms.  You might even go and keep your receipt as proof.  You could also call the MD State Police and ask.

  9. I am confused by the different profiles.  I understand the M4 cut out for a grenade launcher, and a heavy barrel for improved accuracy but beyond that I cannot find on the internet an explanation of the pros and cons or design purpose of the different profiles.  Which profile(s) are good for a 16" mid-length general purpose rifle and what are their pros and cons?  Thank you.

  10. If the acquiring company is in the Fortune 500 it is very likely they will honor your length of service and vacation, and over time your other benefits will most likely convert to the acquiring company's.
