Putting parts together for an M16A2 clone build now.
Going 1-7" twist though, for authenticity and because 75gr OTM rocks. -
I'm pretty sure you can't break an M1891 without power tools.

ADCO does a 4.5" barrel that's really nice, too....Damn It Guys!
All of this talk of 9mm ARs got me so fired up I'm going to build another spare upper using the Kaw Valley Precision 8.5" Barrel. -
To jam out to Mr. Roboto when you have the house to yourself. :biglol:

Admittedly I've only dry-fired the VP9, but I actually liked the SIG P320 better than either.
-
30 years, still just the one gun design....
-
So Conn... In what part of the state do you teach permit classes?
-
CMMG makes excellent 9mm AR stuff, including an awesome dedicated "Colt-pattern" magazine lower. No mag block makes for super reliability. Mine is a 4.5" gun. I love it.

Because the life of some poor little kid isn't as important as making some sort of PC "statement" I suppose.

.410 shotshells out of a short barrel cannot be counted on to reliably penetrate enough to stop an attacker.
Your folks would be better served with a good medium-frame steel .357/.38 revolver. A long gun would be good too. AR15s can be intimidating for older folks, something like an M1 Carbine (expensive these days, unfortunately) or even a lever-action .30-30 might be more palatable and still very effective.
-
I know; that's why I got a chuckle when I read that same mag today.
Has there been another 1911 single stack in polymer? I can't think of one off the top of my head.
-
I actually tried like hell when I was selling LE guns for S&W to get them to do a K-frame up like this. Never could get any traction.
-
Looks like a "carry-oriented" 6-shot .357. Nice, but a cut-down 9mm model would have been better, and I'm sure it will be ludicrous expensive.
-
Now that Apex is doing a flat trigger for them, I'm looking hard at the 9mm compacts for a new carry gun.
Anyone carrying one of these?
-
Numrich has Service-Six .357 Mag cylinders for about $120 or so.
-
I picked up an older gun that didn't like feeding JHP from a full mag.
It's getting back from CZ tomorrow with a new JHP-approved barrel.

Complete and utter hogwash.

OEM or MecGar. (Who makes OEM magazines for tons of manufacturers).
And congrats... 3rd Gen S&W autos are fantastic guns. :2cents:

Is the chassis the serialized part? I can't tell from any of the pics I've seen.

A suppressor releases by one the huge US gun companies, with one of the largest marketing "footprints" in the industry, is a huge deal.
This is the kind of thing that can help get suppressors removed from the NFA.

If a decrease in the number of checks would really result in a loss of revenue, we should demand an audit of the TICS system.
It's not supposed to be turning a &$^%#* profit!!!

I think also for the handgun carry permit to be a substitute for a background check when buying a gun at a dealer, the state would have to run background checks yearly on all the handgun carry permits. I may be wrong, but I think the background checks are only done when the permits are renewed.
I used to think that too, but it isn't the case. We would need to go back to 5-year renewals though. Or just allow HCP holders to voluntarily renew after 5 years if they choose.
18 U.S.C. § 922(t)(3)
(3) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to a firearm transfer between a licensee and another person if—
(A)(i) such other person has presented to the licensee a permit that—(I)allows such other person to possess or acquire a firearm; and(II)was issued not more than 5 years earlier by the State in which the transfer is to take place; and(ii)the law of the State provides that such a permit is to be issued only after an authorized government official has verified that the information available to such official does not indicate that possession of a firearm by such other person would be in violation of law; -
I would like TICS exemption too for the handgun carry permit but I do not think it will happen. Pro gun bills have a way of being stalled in the finance committee and a TICS exemption would reduce govt revenue. We need bills that would not get stuck in the finance committee so that they can reach a floor vote.
Okay, then I want someone in the legislature to stand up and go on record telling us that reducing the number of TICS checks would mean a reduction in revenue.
TICS is supposed to be a background check, not a revenue generator. It SHOULD be revenue-neutral, whether the system does a thousand checks or 10 million. If it actually costs less than 10 bucks per check, then the price of the check needs to go down accordingly.

I think the next "big push" should be TICS exemption for HCP holders.
Where's A2 love?

The M16A2 (which is what I'm cloning), always had a 1x7" twist....
