  1. Is that just Texas? TN didn't have such when I was there (through much of the 70s and later, the 90s).
  2. Thanks. A lot of the recommendations aren't that far from where I used to live in TN. Jamestown, just north of Crossville. But we didn't have good medical. Had to drive to Nashville. That's why I'm thinking closer to Knoxville.
  3. Retired. No kids. No pets. No friends. Just my wife and me. Looking for rural. Modest acreage. Maybe could build unless the right place comes along. Church is primary.
  4. I moved here to a small burg in Oklahoma 18 years ago. I was ~50,000 people. We bought a tidy home on the outskirts of town. Now the city has 117,000 people and our town council (retired teachers, liberals from out of state) are planning on even more. Even though traffic is insane, stressed infrastructure, accidents, etc. I. Really. Hate. Liberals.
  5. That sounds like it. The last place in TN I lived was Jamestown. ~7 years.
  6. I lived in Tennessee for ~13 years. Went to college in Nashville back in the day when it was still solidly red and Redneck. Good place to be. But as I understand, Nashville's been infected with the kommiefornia virus for which there is no cure. What about east Tennessee? Some outlying areas east/northeast of Knoxville?
  7. I'm in Oklahoma and currently own some farmland. Unfortunately, the only things that grow in our crappy soil is hay and weeds. But I'm planning to retire to TN in the near future, Lord willing. I used to live in TN and, come to think of it, don't remember any farmers who grew wheat, corn, watermelons, etc. All such farmers I knew grew cattle. Sounds like OK. Oh, yeah, we grow a lot of dope. The combined IQ of our governor and state legislators barely reaches double digits. And legal dope has been the bane of the state. Like numerous other states, liberal filth from the left coast flooded into our large metropolitan areas (via our universities) and are destroying OK.
  8. I used to live in TN .. for ~13 years. College, mostly. I earned degrees from Freed Hardeman (Henderson) and David Lipscomb (Nashville). Plus I worked in TN for a number of years. Now I'm in Oklahoma but am looking to retire to TN, preferably east TN. Someplace a bit east of Knoxville yet, not so far east as to make it difficult to find good medicine. I'll be picking your brains in the interim, but just wanted to say hello.
