  1. As it stands right now, I will most likely purchase an AR-15 (probably from this site) just to have one and do some training with. I will still be getting a hunting rifle, 9mm pistol, and 10/22. I appreciate all the advice and information!
  2. So I see more of a shift to striker-fired rather than 1911 when in 9mm, correct?
  3. Just curious to know y'alls thoughts on 9mm 1911 for EDC...
  4. This was some great information! And I am definitely interested in looking into becoming a benefactor, so I can have the option of purchasing from this forum after I have had the chance to further discuss any details directly with the seller. What exactly do I need to do in order to have this option in the future?
  5. And being told that I cannot is definitely a reason why I even created this particular post as well. I just want to be certain my choice is a good one once I make the purchases we are looking at.
  6. I did notice the Rossi and Citadel lever-action models, and I am looking more into them currently. Much appreciated on the advice.
  7. As of right now, nothing for either. After being forced into early retirement due to disability, I am strongly looking into what is necessary in order to better supply and protect my family.
  8. Definitely looking into this option. Living in a SMALL town has its merits, but makes it difficult to locate shops that rent in my immediate area. Maybe worthy of a short road trip in the near future.
  9. My wife and I are currently making plans to attend and stay a couple of days as well.
  10. Hey y'all, as I stated in another post, I am looking to purchase a few firearms for myself and my wife after a nearly two-decade hiatus. Research has me looking at a 22LR pistol and rifle for her to use to train her to shoot, and a 9mm pistol and possibly a 308 rifle for me for hunting and home defense. At 51 years old, I am finding it overly tedious to continuously fall down the rabbit holes of never-ending research. I am looking for reliable, budget-friendly, not too rough on my disabled shoulders, and good enough to handle home defense, hunting, and general practice on our land. If y'all have insight and advice, I would certainly appreciate it! My rabbit holes even have me looking down the path of an AR at some point, possibly. I just want to make certain I am making the best possible decision when we do decide to pull the trigger on this investment purchase in our livelihood.
  11. For my handgun of choice, I am looking at the Tisas PX9 Tactical Night Stalker. Any of you have any experience with it? Everything I am reading about Tisas shows them as a great choice for my first EDC handgun.
  12. Honestly, this has taken most of my research time in looking for affordable options for a hunting AND home defense rifle setup. With current politics, budget, primary use, available ammo, and ease of use for a possible old first-time user such as myself, I keep looking at the AR-15, but still not 100% on pulling the trigger, so to speak. Any thoughts on how I should look at it to have better peace of mind than worrying about alphabet agencies showing up at my door? Just being honest since I am too old to pull punches in what I write.
  13. Currently been researching this rifle and possibly one other as an alternative, but I really like what I am seeing online thus far. Seems this rifle shoots well out of its price range class and has the greater capability of upgrades and modifications to further personalize it. Still on the fence if it would be the Predator or simply the Gen 2 standard I would get. Decisions, decisions...
  14. New 51 year young retiree who enjoys long walks on the beach...er...wrong forum...awkward...lol. Seriously, have lived here for four years and married the gal I met here, so y'all are stuck with me. Just looking to bounce info, ideas, advice, and general knowledge of firearms as I am about to purchase a few after not having any for the past couple of decades. Let's just say I may be a slow learner, but I get there eventually. Looking forward to conversing with y'all. Much appreciated in advance!
