sale-or-trade Browning Hi Power Detective Slide Kit
TNPhil replied to TNPhil's topic in Gear Classifieds
Any interest in this item here before I move it over to ebay...? Want to give y'all first dibs if interested. -
Looking for a CZ P-10 Extended Takedown Plate in order to preserve what skin I have left on my fingers when disassembling the gun. My research showed galloway precision had one about five years ago, but not finding any available for purchase now. Any suggestions?

I tried the strong side draw as well and noticed it did not hurt as badly as I had expected, but it felt very uncomfortable. AIWB is not an option, unfortunately, due to my shoulder issues.

Talon Grips is actually on my radar as well, but I have not had any interaction with them as of yet.

Update: Got my P10c in and ran some rounds through after inspecting and cleaning. Found out pretty quickly that it did NOT like the Turan 124g HP since the first one I chambered hung up, and I ended up having to force rack the slide in order to eject the unspent round. CCI and Fiocchi ran flawlessly. I will definitely be upgrading the front sight as the three white dot system is difficult to see, but I still managed a decent group at 25 yards. Now, I just need to work on repetitions and work toward better grouping and speed as time goes along. The gun feels great in my hands, even with the needle-like stippling, but I think I will try the Hogue rubber grip for it and see how that feels in comparison. Pics will be added soon.

Lowering the price to $450 obo in an attempt to let y'all know I am legit being this is my first item for sale on this forum. Feel free to ask questions or message if necessary. -
Appreciate all of the feedback on this topic. I think I will go without on my carry, and look into a comp on my next handgun purchase instead. Without a true benefit, I don't see dropping the money on one when there is ammo to purchase instead

After EXTENSIVE research and experimentation, the only comfortable position to draw from for me is OWB Cross Draw. Now, I already know this is not a winner in past topics here (like I said, EXTENSIVE research), but due to my ailments, I strongly believe this will be best for me. With Tennessee being an Open Carry state, I know the option is there, and I intend to use it within reason. Others have replied in the past that open carry will scare anti-gunners and such with it being paraded around in open sight. While I cannot fully disagree with this mindset, I also think of how I feel when I see open carry around me. Thoughts going through my head are: Do they have the necessary training to open carry? Are they FULLY aware of their surroundings and not just the immediate threat? Does pride motivate them alone to open carry, or is it responsibility? These are questions I then ask myself and put myself in check. Open Carry is and is not a statement. Having the right is not enough for me to simply strap up and walk outside. Accountability has to be at the forefront of everytime I holster and walk outside. Light concealment is possible while still going open carry. Maybe, and I apologize for all the feathers I may ruffle, but maybe we could start working toward getting our rights back if we holstered for the right reasons each time and continued our training and education. Now, I am just an old feller who has decided that with this being my home till my boots are upside down in the dirt, I plan to protect everything I love here. When I was diagnosed with degenerative bone disorder, I thought I would not be able to hold a gun, much less carry one. Sometimes its the negatives in life that get you refocused on the positives. For me, the choice is OWB Cross Draw, and I will continue to practice and learn even when I have my gun on me. Just hoping others might read this and see the need vs the show. Y'all keep staying safe out there

I got to hold one at a shop last month, and then fired one a few days later. Amazing fit in the hands, trigger is nothing to sneer about, and the price was jaw-droppingly low. But, I chose to wait on my purchase since it is so new, and wanted to make certain I would not be the one with the gun that decided to malfunction. So I went with the reliable CZ for my carry weapon for now.

Hey y'all, I recently purchased a CZ P10c online (great deal that I could not pass up), and lo and behold, the Compensated model hit a ridiculously low price in the past couple of days. The model I purchased is unthreaded, so I was curious if anyone had any experience with the rail mount compensators out there. Looking at a couple of options that not only help with felt recoil, but also assist in follow-up shots. And yes, I do wish I had the money to just buy another CZ right now, but it is not quite in the cards.

Browning Hi-Power Detective Slide Kit 9mm Recently found this slide kit and wanted to offer it up here. Looking for $500 or reasonable trade in a hunting rifle or, as my wife is currently searching for a run down pop up camper we can gut and rebuild for our business. Feel free to ask questions, and I will do my best to answer promptly. In Sparta

Went and shot a few different models, including the Canik TP9 Elite SF, CZ P10c, and the Ruger RXM in an attempt to further narrow down my choice for a carry firearm. A purchase was made online yesterday for a CZ P10c. That pistol not only felt better to me, but it was almost effortless to fire follow-up shots. Now begins the task of finding the best holster to use in an open carry cross draw role. I have to admit this is quite the adventure, and I'm having fun piecing everything together!

Would love to find a CZ p10c or a Stoeger str9 close to that price range. Definitely looking into safest option vs overall price. Adulting sucks sometimes...lol

Afternoon y'all Looking at getting my EDC pistol before I purchase my fun gun in a few months or so. Currently looking at a Taurus G3c as it seems to check off most of what my criteria are. Y'all have any experience with this model or possible advice? This would be my primary everyday carry, especially due to its size.

Slight change of plans on my carry pistol since companies apparently require payment for their firearms...who knew?? LOL... I will be getting a subcompact 9mm striker-fired pistol for EDC, and will be revisiting this discussion in a few months or so. I greatly appreciate (most) all of the responses back and have quite a lot of info and knowledge to process when I do finally pull the trigger on the 1911.

Prism scope with 5x magnifier, upgraded take down pins and lower parts, and a soon to be upgraded grip will all be donning my gal very soon. Found a shooting park near me that I cannot wait to take her to so she can sing as loudly as she desires. Magpul bipod is on her now and ready for some bench action. I have to admit, the stock trigger is not what I expected...it is SOOOOO much better !!

UPDATE... Delilah arrived last week! In 5.56, 16 inch, and blacked out, she is gorgeous to view! Found a HUGE sale on her through Battle Hawk Armory for this Watchtower Type 15M and could not pass up. Iron sights to start off with, and looking for red dot with magnifier now. Weapon light, sling, Ryker grip, and a few other things are on the way. Pics to be added shortly

Alright, update on this post...thanks for all of the info, advice, and tips on this post. As of right now, I am awaiting my very first AR-15 5.56 16" to arrive at my FFL in just a couple of days! After all my research, the info I received here, and a sale I could NOT pass up for Father's Day, I will be the proud owner of a Watchtower Type 15M. I will be setting up a small shooting range on my property this week and moving it to the back of my property later this year. Might as well make use of the 17 acres we own out here. Planning on providing pics once the rifle gets here, as well as pics of the range evolution. Looking forward to this new adventure, and yes, safety first and member of GOA, NRA, and USCCA to help further my education. Will be hitting a few ranges in the next month or so as well just to stretch my legs a bit. Hope y'all don't mind joining my pride in this journey as well!

After all of this great feedback and more research, I believe I have decided to build an AR-15 that fits my specs and modifications. This would assist with options for hunting as well as home defense. 300 BLK would be my primary build, and I will be looking for deals on other caliber uppers in the future. The next thing to begin researching and discussing would be rifle vs pistol for my primary build. Looking forward to this adventure in the AR platform while bellowing my 2a right along the way

Very true. A lot of great info has been shared from this site. Much appreciated!

Unfortunately, not with my disabled shoulders

I believe there are a couple of places not too far of a drive from here for me. Hoping we can try some out in a week or so.

My apologies, but I am unsure if this is the proper forum placement for this post. Yes, I have posted and commented a bit on upcoming purchases of firearms I have been researching for a while now. Being that my wife is new to firearms, I wanted to incorporate some easy to learn and handle guns, but at the same time, acquire budget-friendly weapons we could use on our property when we see fit. As of now, the list of firearms is: Ruger 10/22 Rifle, Taurus TX22 Pistol, Hunting Rifle (still researching and stuck between bolt and lever action), and the Tisas PX9 Night Stalker. These weapons will have dual use for the most part, incorporating hunting as well as home defense. My goal is to be able to train her, then graduate her to the higher calibers if necessary. Does this seem like a good route to go?
