  1. my wife asked my 8yr old stepdaughter the other week, "what do you think dad would like for Christmas?" She thought for a minute and said, "I think dad needs a new gun'. My wife then tried to work with a friend of mine as to what to get me to no avail. She finally asked me if there were any C+R guns I had been looking at and I told her not really. She then told me I had to get one or I would break my daughter's heart. So I then ordered myself a Romanian Tokarev, courtesy of my daughter, who I awesome by the way, as well as my wife. My wife has never been a gun person, even had a gun put in her face by an ex. She has come around with me even to the point of making sure I have my carry piece when we go out. Just thought I would share this as I dont expect it to be a recurring theme next year. A co-worker told me should get a 308 AR with this and that and this and a........

  2. I was just trying to let the TN area know about a place of business that did not have your well being at heart, I had no idea it would turn into a 3 page debate. Now I feel important. In a related experience, today I went to the La Siesta in Smyrna. Left my gun in the truck since they serve alcohol. Saw the same sign on the board behind the cashier's head. Said something like it was illegal to carry weapons where alcohol is sold or served. Where do these people get these signs....

  3. Went there yesterday open carrying to get some stuff for the holidays. Look as I go in to make sure it is not posted and saw nothing. AFTER I pay (of course) the clerk raises up a piece of paper on a bulleting board to expose a sign that said something to the effect of, "it is illegal to carry weapons where alcohol is sold". I told him that was not the law, after he said it was. I then asked him that since it was not the law, was it their store policy. He said he would just feel more comfortable if I did not have a gun. Without getting into a full on education session, I advised him that my safety was my paramount concern and I would not return. I realize if I had not been OCing this would not have come up. Just wanted to pass along in case anyone else might be headed there. Happy Holidays,

    Bill

  4. As far as if they were playing the national anthem at the time, below is the quote from the picture from the time magazine website:

    "Respect

Senator Barack Obama, Governor Bill Richardson, Senator Hillary Clinton and Ruth Harkin stand during the national anthem."

  5. Not exactly RKBA, but there is no "politics" thread on the forum. This pic is from the Oct 1, 2007 Time magazine.

I guess Osama thinks he is above putting his hand over his heart for the National Anthem. Maybe it is just me.....

  6. I registered here a month or so ago but I think this is my first post. I had something almost happen today that I need an opinin on. We to Smyrna airport entering on the East side of airport, the "old" side. I notice up ahead there are two ?Smyrna? officers shooting radar in my direction. I have my pistola in the center hump in my truck. I think, "I am going to get a speeding ticket, and am I allowed to have my HG on the airport? I did not get a ticket, not even pulled over, lucky day. Conducted my business then left. Got to thinking about it later and wondered if there was a law against carrying in the parking lot of the airport. I did not see any postings, I did find a place in the TCA where it said no carrying on property owned by a municipal government. It also said there that picking up or dropping off passengers would be considered a defense to being charged with carrying on municipal property. Please educate me as to what I am missing here. Thank you for your time,
