  1. My point wasn't whether the "Gun Buster" sign is or isn't legal or whether myself, the OP or any eles knows what is or isn't legal. My point was that I think the average small business person that chooses to post most likely goes to the local office supply store and purchases a generic Gun Buster or No Weapons sign or whatever may be available. We've discussed the issue in several threads becasues it's important to us but all the average business wants to do is place a sign conveying the message that they do not weapons in their place of business. They most likely have no idea whether the sign actually satisfies the requirments of applicable laws at their location.

  2. What everyone has said plus. I've noticed that no one notices which is good and also bad. It's good that people don't notice and yell "man with a gun" it's bad people just don't notice what is going on around them. That makes them prey for perps.

My neighbor is frequently out in the afternoon when I arrive home. Several times I've picked up my mail, lunchbag, coffee cup (whatever may be laying in the car) to carry in the house along with my EDC. I can walk over and greet him with my EDC in my hand or tucked under my arm and he never notices.

  3. I'm not sure I'd even call the chief to thank to guy as must as he deserves it. Public service personnel never get thanked. It may be OK for him to give a ride, a judgement call on his part, but it may also be against City policy and he was just helping out. If you can identify the specific officer then thank him directly and he can decide whether to share the thank you note/letter with his superiors. I absolutely would not call and complain that he let you in his car carrying.

  4. I didn't start school until I was 35. Graduated at 39 and used all of the non engineering experience on my resume to get my 1st engineering job. It still took 6 months. You are only 24. Plenty young. Two years of work experience even if it's not in engineering would be viewed as an asset. The on the job learning curve for engineering is very steep. That's the reason with most professional careers you take the license exam right out of college but with engineering it takes 4 years of pratice under a PE before sitting for the PE. Keep your day job and start looking, you'll do fine.

  5. I started up the car several wieeks or months ago and heard a noise that I though to be most likely power steering but maybe transmission. This started before I left the driveway so I started looking for the source. As I listended more closely I beleived it was coming from the back of the car. I opened the trunk and out jumped a cat. I assume the thing had gotten in there the day before and spent at least a night.

  6. Dolomite hit what I though on the head. My Kahr CW-9 is the largerst pistol that I can find a pocket holster for. I frequently lay it in the console of the car or door pocket of the truck in it's pocket holster which keeps the trigger covered. I've looked for a pocket holster for my G-19 but no one makes one since it's too large for a pocket. This would allow me to vehicle carry the Glock.

  7. Got a haircut yesterday. I've gone to the same lady, who was a high school classmeat of mine, for most of my adult life. Discussion drifted to the fact that she had just taken the HCP @ Bass Pro Shop and then filed her paperwork with DOS. She was very pleased with the class.

  8. I own a CW-9. I consider it my carrying gun but not my shooting gun. It's not really fun to shoot and I don't think I would want to put 200-300 rounds through it at one time. The first couple of range trips were a disaster with all kinds of FTF, FTE issues. I cleaned it after each 50-75 rounds. After a couple of range trips and a few boxes of ammo it cleared up and has been very realiable ever since. I own a G-19 but the Kahr is my EDC becasue it easier for me to conceal and more comfertable to carry.
