  1. [quote name="mav" post="1215879" timestamp="1417635707"]Yes, both are.  The poseur was claiming to have been awarded three CIBs, which is listed as one of the medals (https://www.congress.gov/bill/113th-congress/house-bill/258) under the 2013 Stolen Valor law.  You will have to prove that his intent was to obtain money, property, or some other tangible benefit.  The veteran was disturbing the peace/disorderly conduct for his profanity.[/quote

I take Veterans Day off work, go climbing or camping July 4th and Memorial Day so I can be alone and reflect. My family understands - I'm usually even keel throughout the year and hardly anything bugs me. Someone desecrates the flag or if I ran into one of these jack-offs then I can say I would have been better than the guy filming. I don't know any vets that went out the wire repeatedly and seen action, let alone seen a battle buddy die that would have acted as calm. I'm hoping like a lot of us, after he calmed down that he sat down with the family and apologized for his actions. You can't have numerous deployments and the on/off switch work like before.
  2. Go over and start talking with the heads of the household, general talk so they can feel you out then try to narrow down the days you found said wings in your yard. Follow it up explaining how chicken bones splitter like needles causing a choking hazard to your dog that your trying to find out how they are ending up in your backyard. Hopefully it works out, because if my dog has issues because of what my neighbor did - they'll know I've gone to level 10 with no warning. People around me see me as passive, maybe a pushover until it's go time -then they don't know what hit them.

I really wish good outcome for you and your buddy.
  3. My buddies son is on the Portland football team I think, anyways, anytime they have games that are several hours away - after school, he drives his son home because the bus drivers normally work the morning of, afternoon then drive the team wherever and drive back after the game. Fatigue, distractions of the kids and other motorists I can see why he does what he does.
  4. Thanks fellas, lots of good information and some was never on my radar. Think I got a game plan now. FWIW - if you want only a few things from Ikea, Modern Nash by the Nashville zoo makes a few trips a week and will even assemble for a fee. Since I'm looking at two bedrooms plus odds and ends I'd rather do everything myself.
  5. My family will be moving into our new home hopefully by the 12th of December if everything goes as planned. There are several furniture items from Ikea in Atlanta that my wife and daughter would like. Any tips on a one way rental from Atlanta to Nolensville that I should know or things to avoid? Thanks for any advice.
  6. I've bought/sold/traded numerous semi-autos but always seem to keep every revolver I've gotten. My sisters first handgun was my Taurus revolver and my wife a 442. Could you gentlemen recommend a YouTube video or link that shows how to clean a revolver above field cleaning or ones that shows a trigger job? I've seen a few but don't know what right looks like so I've always stuck with the basics. Thanks in advance.
  7. Chick-fila or Firehouse sub will fix your fast food issue. Wal-mart and those quickie lude/oil change places pay dang near minimum wage. If you can't change your oil because of health reasons talk with local shops. My wife brought our cars to one while I was deployed. She brought in Mobil1 and Napa gold oil filter - they charged $15 for labor. Hope you've let it go and found zen.
  8. Are you getting from a rescue or a shelter? Spend some time and read up on the breed which you think you may want, my sister had an APBT that became too much for her because she was not active enough and the dog had too much energy as an indoor dog. Boo has been living with the family for almost three years and we've had no problem except for the occasional chewed slippers or shoe - mainly in the winter when we can't take him for his hikes/runs. Also the proper care of the dog is a factor. I've had several friends talk about wanting a dog like mine and when I let them know the general requirement they end up getting breeds that fit in a purse. I honestly can't say that I've ever been around a dog that I never liked so as long as the dog fits your lifestyle, hobbies and time you are able to devote to it you'll be fine.

(Last three vehicles has been a hatchback, wagon and SUV so there would be room for my dog. No more sports car.....)
  9. They have good deals on meat and produce, specially if you want to eat healthy. I can't always make the farmers market on the weekends so I buy from them. I'll wait for the video before making judgements, I have many friends that work security/staff and they usually let a suspected perp go, get description so the guy can be banned from the store. They mainly wanna do there job and not have to file paperwork. I suspect this customer had a bad day and probably put his hands on an employee and won a prize he didn't want. It's policy, if he didn't like it then don't shop there. I personally like Costco's business philosophy. Good wages and he puts a cap on how much he will charge the customer above what he paid for the product - no price gauging which does not make him popular with his shareholders.
  10. If her owners actually gave a crap she would not be running free waiting to get hit and die a miserable death.

If you can't keep her then try to find her a loving home. Plenty of pitbull rescues around that would eb willing to help. Do not take her to any animal center because the vast majority do not try to adopt out pitbulls, even if they are perfect dogs, and often euthanize then as soon as possible.

You will be surprised at how loving and loyal these dogs are.

All of the above and glad your giving her a chance.
