  1. I was in the Boro this weekend and one of my friends who lives there (I did for 4 years) said that the locals stood up and fought against the mosque. Many people made comments that they would burn the place down. I would not put it past good ole Southern folks to let some common law justice ring out against any pro-muslim buldings in the area. Just because NY bends over and takes it, doesn't mean that they can start building mosques in the Southern pro-Christian areas without some resistance.

If you travel outside of the Boro' especially towards Woodbury, I have friends who have run across burning crosses and KKK rally's. Not that I support that at all, but you have to realize the type of people your dealing with in the area. Even the quiet one's aren't going to take kindly to a bunch of towel heads no matter how civilized they claim to be, especially with the NY mosque so blatently slapping the U.S. in the face right now.

I have no problem with freedom of religion, however the muslum's need to realize and RESPECT the fact that this country is a Christian nation. You don't see us going over and building churches in Muslum countries....it would be an outrage. However they are just fine with bringing thier religion out so publicly in our country.

I'm sorry, but this is a Christian nation that is "tolerant" of other religions because the bible tells us to be, however when you want us to be tolerant of you, better be respectful of us.

This country seems to be going in the direction of extreme tolerance of religion passing the buck to the constitution, however the line is going to be drawn at some point.....I feel like it already has with the Ground Zero mosque. The only reason it doesn't piss me off that much is that I don't think radical Muslums were behind 9/11

I hate that I'm the only one saying this, but you need to check out the Code of Conduct and simmer down a little bit, my friend.

Members should treat each other as they would like to be treated themselves. Name calling, flame posts, racial slurs, and other insulting remarks meant to cause conflict will not be tolerated. You should always try to maintain good fellowship with the other members of this community and be respectful to your fellow shooting enthusiasts whether they are new shooters or seasoned veterans.

  2. Since summer has started, I've been sweating a lot and I don't wear an undershirt with my MTAC, so a lot of that sweat gets on my gun. As such, the grip screw on the side of my pistol that touches my body has began rusting. I have a CZ 75BD, is there anywhere that I can get a stainless steel grip screw or some other cost effective means to prevent this from happening? Thanks.

  3. I love tattoos. I wanna get more, I just need to finish getting all these guns I want first. :D

Just remember, while your tattoo may have profound meaning to you, other people might not get the same meaning. So, depending on where you get it, be prepared to be profiled. Whatever you do, don't get barbed wire, tribal designs, or a cartoon character.

  4. I wasn't there and I don't have video of the entire thing, but I don't see why he was wrestling with the girl in the black in the first place, and yeah it was really stupid for her to resist and her friend was also stupid to try to help. This all does not mean that it was ok for him to punch the girl in the face. He should have used pepper spray or a tazer, or even perhaps not decided to detain someone over jaywalking.

  5. Do not get your wife a little pocket .380 for self dense. She needs something with at least a G26 size grip, decent sights, and a decent sight radius. The pocket .380's possess none of these qualities NEEDED in a good defensive handgun. They are good only as a "gut buster". Their tiny magwells make reloads under stress near impossible. Since she does not already have an HCP/Carry Gun, I will assume she is not an experienced shooter. If she needed the gun, she will need every advantage she can get. Do her a favor, spend a little more $$$ and get a G26, Sig 239, XDsc, or similar gun in terms of size and quality. As far as second strike capability, that is worthless and detracts from what you should do, Tap, Rack, Bang, Immediate action. Relying on that second strike capability will get someone killed someday.

I'd like to make her walk around with a Mossberg Road Blocker, but the fact is, she is a slim girl and not only would she not be able to conceal a G26, but she wouldn't like to look lumpy and frumpy either. I want to get her something that she will actually carry (accessible and not buried in her purse), because even the Road Blocker wouldn't do her any good if it just sat on the nightstand. I don't plan on letting her go anywhere that she would be under siege by hordes of 300lb crackheads, so I'm comfortable with her having a .380 that she will be able to handle to "gut bust" any rapist or mugger that confronts her when she is away from the house or me.

  6. I posted a thread a few minutes ago in the Handguns section of Firearms & Gear titled "Looking for a carry pistol for the wife." It is not showing up in the forum. I can find it if I go through my profile and look for the threads I've started, but otherwise it is not showing up. What the junk?

  7. Hey Guys,

I've concinced my wife to let me get her a carry pistol and a permit for my birthday. That's right, my birthday. We've been to a few stores and figured out what she'd be comfortable carrying. We've pretty much settled on a .380 (the smallest caliber I'd let her carry) and she likes the LCP and the TCP.

My understanding is that the TCP has a last shot slide stop, second strike capability, and ships with an additional mag, which the LCP does not. However, I've heard about reliability issues with Taurus products.

What are your thoughts on each of these and do any of you have an LCP/TCP that you'd be willing to let my wife try (you'd be welcome to throw some lead down range out of my CZ-75BD)?

  8. Got my CZ75 off Bud's. It's my carry gun. Best feeling/shooting pistol I've ever shot. CZ's are uncommon because they 1.) Aren't popular in movies/tv/videogames, 2.) Aren't used by government agencies in the US, 3.) Have a difficult to pronounce name, 4.) Have no advertising campaign to speak of in the US. That's what I figure.

I have a Comp-Tac M-TAC holster that was made for my CZ75 and it fits it wonderfully. Makes carrying a full size steel frame pistol quite comfortable.

  9. The AA-12 also dates back to 1985, can fire pretty much ANY 2-3/4 12ga shells without adjustment, has a 20rd drum, straight-line recoil, has excellent ergonomics, and was never anything but a limited-production weapon. IIRC only about 50 were ever built.

Comparing a Saiga with the AA-12 is like comparing an AK with an M-240.

Not to be a white knight for Saiga, but the Saiga 12 has all of that except for the straight-line recoil and the limited production. They actually make a 30rd drum for the Saiga 12.

  10. IMHO the following items put it well above the Saiga.

    1. Capable of full auto mode - 300 rounds/min
    2. Fires from an open bolt - (the best way to keep an auto cool in sustained firing.)
    3. Better recoil absorbing system
    4. Uses stainless steel construction

While there maybe more, these alone are reason enough to rate the AA-12 over the Saiga. With that being said, we can buy a Saiga but not the AA-12. :)

    1. Saiga 12's can be made fully auto. There are plenty of videos on youtube. A fully auto Saiga 12 also has a higher firing rate if that's what floats your boat.

    2. Firing from an open bolt keeps autos cool, but closed bolt keeps them clean. Neither gun can fire enough rounds, or would need to, to take advantage of open bolt construction.

    3. This is true. It should be mentioned that, with the addition of a brake and a cheap recoil buffer, the recoil can be made very manageable

    4. This is also true, however, the reliability of the Saiga 12 is on par with a top quality AK-47 and the reliability of the AA-12 has yet to be seen so the point is all but moot.

    Other things to consider:

    5. The Saiga 12 can fire 3in magnum shells whereas the AA-12 only fires 2-3/4.

    6. The Saiga 12 can have a folding stock, whereas the AA-12's recoil system demands a non-folding one similar to an AR.

  11. What's the issue with Walmart? Not that I particularly love the place, just curious....

    And congrats. Feels great huh?

Wal-mart is the preferred shopping destination of knuckledraggers and mouthbreathers. They have low prices, but the stress endured from the screaming half-naked children, negligent parents, meth zombies, and OLD PEOPLE is more than enough incentive to shop elsewhere for any civilized human who is anywhere but the brink of desperation.

    Whew.

Also, congrats on your Target walk GGP2JZ.

  12. Sounds fine to me. If I had a shoulder holster, I'd OC when at home. If someone is uncomfortable with you carrying, they can f'n leave. The only thing to be concerned about would be tipping people off to the fact that you have guns.

I saw a gas station clerk OCing last night here in Nashville. I guess they get some unsavory characters in there.

  13. The judge should have thrown her out if she didn't like it, not put her in jail for 2 days. Assuming her clothing was even disruptive to the court proceedings, it would still be overkill to do anything more to ask her to leave. I know a lot of people would like to have their moral/religious beliefs to be backed by law, but America is not a theocracy. Regardless of how immature and trashy such a shirt is, it shouldn't be punishable by the law or a judge or whatever.
