    DAO S&W

I just bought my first DAO pistol a used S&W 5944. Haveing fired mostly 1911 type pistols for more years than I want to think about, the trigger pull on this Smith has me talking to myself. Is there a "get used to factor" or are the triggers all horrible? Is there anybody that can make them feel better?
  3. Haveing owned maybe a dozen 22 auto's including Berretta's, Brownings, High Standards, Colts, Rugers, And a S&W over the years along with conversion kits for my 45 auto's, I would have to pick a Ruger Mark11 or 22/45 if I could only own 1. They are easy to find, easy to customize, and reliable with about any ammo you load them up with.

    1911 Smith?

Awhile back somebody recommended a gunsmith who was very good with 1911's in the Cookeville, TN area. I can't seem to find that post now and very much need this persons services. I had a wonderful homebuilt pistol that I put together about 20 years ago and let somebody talk me into trading top ends with them. I ended up with a very sexy looking slide that doesn't work with my Essex frame at all. If anybody could point me to the right expert I would apreciate it greatly. Dave PS: I'm in Jamestown but would drive a reasonable distance to get this fixed.
  6. Hello to the group. Retired and moved to Fentress Cty the past year where the weather is nice enough that you can shoot off of your back deck year around. I am mostly interested in single shot target rifles now but do own several 1911 type pistols and a nice Olympic K-16 carbine. Anybody near me reload? I would like to get into that. Dave
