  1. I have a 1978 Model 36 3" in nickel. I can draw it quickly and accurately. It is my favorite carry gun. I carry a back up with it and two speed loaders. I bought it at Donaldson Hardware in Nashville.
  2. Every dog in my neighborhood and back then there no leash laws, stopped barking at me, at night. I only did this one time and it worked for the rest of my stay there.
  3. Throw those barking dogs a raw hot dog. Soon they will be wagging their tails at you instead of barking. It worked for me. There was this German Shepard down the road I lived on and evey time I walked by he would bark furiously. I threw him a raw hotdog and he kept barking as I walked by. The next time I walked by at night, he came out wagging his tail and never bothered me again.
  4. You are a good man and did the best you could. I have seen people do the same thing. It is terrible to watch.
  5. The one that seems to be the most valuable (bottom row, second from the left) I a Winchester from the late 1800's that belonged to my wife's grandfather. I gave it to our son to pass it down. The shiny one on the top row 8th from the left is a Linder Scout. The skinning knife with the antler handle, 3rd from the right, top row, is a Silver Stag. I gave it to a friend who hunts a lot. The double edge, bottom row 4th from the right is a Kershaw diver's knife I bought to go on my life jacket for whitewater kayaking. Until I heard about a guy on the Ocoee River bleeding out when one was used to cut away the rope pinning his legs. Double knives are a no no for swift water rescue.
  6. What a great buy! Good on you mate.
  7. Can you guess which knife is the most valuable? Bottom row, second from the left.
  8. I watched a you tube video of a ballistic gel test between a 45acp fmj and a 9mm fmj. The test proved that the 9mm has better penetration than the 45acp, I also noticed that when the 45 hit the gel, the gel block came off the table but the 9mm did not do so. It kind of makes you wonder about the 45acp....................just kidding.
  9. Yard Dog I highly recommend a ceramic sharpening stick along with a good set of stones. Once you get the knife sharp you can use the ceramic stick to keep it sharp and it does remove a lot of blade. I also recommend a pocket microscope from Amazone for $15. 60-120 power. With that you can look at the edge up close.
  10. I like my ammunition just like my women. Big, round and slow.
  11. SOG Flash II Tanto. I always have a knife on me. This one is my favorite.
  12. He walked up to me and said, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY YARD!". He had a nice place on Old Hickory Reservoir. He was surrounded by apple orchards. The property with the orchard was across the road from his estate. The orchard was sold and subdivided. I was working for Nashville Electric Service and we were surveying a pole line to supply power for the new subdivision. I told Mr. Cash that we were going to have to put a guy wire in his yard to hold up a pole. He said "Oh no you're not!" I said "NO we are not." and we had to resurvey the pole line to keep the guy wire off his lawn. He was very happy and I had a story I could tell.
  13. If someone can program it, then someone can hack it. The feds will track it. Only nerds will pack it.
  14. Great post! I have struggled with the same problem. I can draw my little Smith and Wesson model 36 3" and fire two rounds faster than any handgun I own. So that is what I carry at 3 O'clock. To deal with the 5 round capacity, I keep a P365 in a crossdraw configuration at 10 O'clock. If I had to pick just one, I would have to pick the wheel gun.

    GRIP SIZE

You cannot go wrong with a Glock 17. Complaining about a certain grip is a pass time of gun forums. I have read many after action reports by law enforcement. I have never read a police officers say "I sure am glad I have that custom grip or I would never have won that fight." Same thing with triggers. As a matter of fact most cops don't even know how many rounds they fired. That being said most shooters just shoot at targets and that is where a comfortable grip, nice trigger and sights come in to play. I have owned a few Glocks and still use the Glock 19 as my go to pistol.
