  1. Hey guys/gals I have just recently purchased a Colt Commander and I want to have some work done on it. I want a new trigger, hammer, beavertail grip safety, full length guide rod. Thats a good start but I have no idea of a Good, Reliable quality gunsmith around here.

Any advise on this matter would be greatly appreciated

  2. Well I guess I will start with asking the owner, which I know quite well if she has any accredited teachers. If she says no, I guess I will inform her that I carry a weapon and want to know if she has any problems with me having it on my person when I pick up my children. The worse thing that she could say is no, and then I guess i could tell her thats fine and by the way, today will by my childrens last day at her daycare.....

I wonder if that would change her mind with the issue...

  3. Well guys im not exactly new here, but I am posting from my new rersidence. I would like to take this time to tell everyone that I have made it home from Baghdad after a year long deployment. I have been busy getting back to normal and adjusting to civilian life again. I am just here recently getting back on the forum and checking things out.

This may not be the proper place to post this, if so I appologize in advance.

  4. I have searched the posts and I cant find the answer to my question. I was wanting to know if it is legal to carry into child daycare. I have to pick my daughter and son up from daycare and just to be on the safe side I leave my weapon in the truck. Can anyone tell me if its legal to carry into child daycare that is under the states supervision?

  5. well as an update, I called the Dept of Safety and they said that they made the mistake (imagine that)

I asked them if my permit was showing up on record as showing an expired date and they said yes. I then asked them if my HCP was active or not, and as you might have guessed, its not active and I cant legally carry with my permit.

So now I have to sit and wait for them to mail me a NEW HCP. So I guess I can just sit here and carry my weapon around the house and not on me when I leave my property.

Yea, saying that im PO is an understatement........:):censored::rofl:

  6. Hey guys, this may not be the right place to post this question, if not I do appologize.

My question is this, I came home from Iraq on midtour and got my carry permit. I went back to Iraq and 5 months later I came home and my permit was waiting for me at the house. However, I noticed that the experiation date was wrong, it said it expires in 2005, when I just received it.

I am so very pissed right now, I know I need to call the dept of safety, I just dont know what or how long it will take to rectify the situation and if I can carry my handgun even though the permit says it expires in 2005.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated:eek::screwy::eek:

  7. It's great to have service personnel on the forums! There should be a gun owners forum for each state, so tell your buds to log on if they get a chance to do so. I pray every day, and I will remember to keep your safety in my prayers so you can come home safely to your family. Thank you for the sacrifice you are making on behalf of our country -- we are so proud of our service men and women who do so much for us! As I said, God bless you all, each and every one!

That I have done already, alot of by battle buddy's here have their HCP and as you might have guessed, we all love to shoot. I have passed the website around to many and I hope they take an interest into it.

There is much to learn here and many great people on this forum with a wealth of knowledge..

    Thanks Guys/Gals

  8. Did you get to fly the Sherpas from Balad? Or did you fly straight into Baghdad? I was at Balad as a contractor with Dyncorp for 16 months. The Sherpa rides will get you pulling seat canvas out of your crack when you de-plane, low, slow and skimming treetops.

No I flew straight into Baghdad. 16 months is a long tour sure enough.. Are you back stateside now?? I have right at 41 days left, hard not to think about it being that its getting close now. Gotta stay focused and keep my SA on high alert, dont want to get complacent now..
