  1. It was the Glock 35 which I thought was strange as that is not a very good carry gun. Didn't file a claim, as I had not reported to the insurance company what guns I have so they were not covered. I may be paranoid but several were bought years ago or more recently by ftf transactions so there is no record anywhere of what guns I have, other than the recent purchases. Al
  2. I got a call yesterday from the Knoxville Police Dept. They had received notice from the Chicago police who had recovered a gun that was stolen from me last August. My home was broken into and two Glocks and a Walther were taken. I had all the serial numbers written down, which were put into the national database of stolen guns. The KPD said that Chicago would send the gun to them in a few days and I would be able to pick it up from the property division. Al
  3. I was looking at a steel silhoutte site and they go for some gee whiz scopes that cost over $1,000. Probably work better for long range accuracy and less for speed of target acquisition. I haven't been able to find any recommendations for steel challenge. I planned to spend up to $300 if that is the minimum to get a usable scope. Al
  4. I've bought a .22 rifle to hopefully use in the ORSA steel challenge match. What would be a good scope to buy that would work best for that type of shooting? Al
  5. I am scheduled to work on that Saturday. Will this be an ongoing event? What is a bag or chamber flag? I'd like to participate, have never done steel before. Al
  6. I ended up buying a used Glock 22 from South Clinton Pawn Shop. They had a great price on a gun that looked brand new. All three guys in the shop were very friendly and appreciated my business. They have a lot of used guns in the shop, most of them were Taurus, but a few Glocks.
  7. Has anyone used the Merit attachment in IDPA? I am really struggling with reading glasses and target vision. The sights are clear with reading glasses and the target is very blurry, without glasses the target is clear and I can hardly see the sights. Used some tape with a hole for range shooting and it helped quite a bit. Want to start some IDPA shooting and trying to work the vision out, not sure if the Merit would work with the movement required.
  8. Getting a used Glock 22, 3rd generation.
  9. I read in the Bearden Shopper-News that there are at least two candidates that support the 2nd ammendment. They are: Ken Knight - 2nd District index Gerry Holman - 3rd District Gerry Holman Knoxville, TN If you live in the city of Knoxville, but are unsure of your district, check this map: City of Knoxville - City Council Districts We have a chance to get some pro-gun people on city council, lets give them some support in their race.
  10. I am looking to buy a handgun from Summit Auto Brokers in Missouri. Has anyone used On Target Training Center on Inskip Road to do a transfer? They are a new listing on Gunbroker and charge $25. Their place is the nearest to me except for Earl Denton, and he takes a couple of weeks to return phone calls. Coal Creek Armory wants $50 to do the transfer if they carry it in stock.
  11. Just joined after lurking for the past several months. Enjoy range shooting to improve marksmanship. Only have a S&W J-frame after a recent burglary on 08/31/09. Lost two Glocks and my wife's Walther. Warning to those in Knoxville, home burglary is on the rise. Be careful, I now have a first-rate alarm system. Al
