  1. I think you did good! In fact, I'm gonna make it better. I have a FBI Comptac paddle holster that I will give you. Shoot me your mailing address and I will send it out next time I'm near a post office.

  2. I will lube my anus and let a zombie deep inside of me if they ever surface.

Wow. That took a completely different direction than I expected. While we are on the topic, I'm gonna call BS and say that you would not let that happen.

  3. Im very confused what all this zombie business is about. Are you all really convinced that zombies are a relevant concern?

Ummm don't you watch TV or read comics? It's a very serious concern.

  4. If you can free drop your mag that would be better IMO. You off hand can be grabbing the new mag while te other one drops instead of taking your off hand, pulling your mag, and then reloading. It is faster to just drop if you can. With that said, ripping mags should be practiced in case you have a jam.

  5. So I've been researching underground shelters lately in leu of the crazy weather we have had here. My wife is from Oklahoma and she freaks out with weather and let's be honest, it gives me a reason to prep. I have looked into concrete vs shipping containers and it seems that both have their issues. Concrete being easy to crack due to water and pressure and shipping containers not being as solid as they say. Anyone have any suggestions on an AFFORDABLE shelter?

  6. Here's my week as a general rule:

M-F I work and come home and play with my little one until her bedtime then I play on TGO or watch TV

Saturday and/or Sunday I either work or do yard work while my wife is at work as long as my child is asleep. If she's not, we play. Then when she lays down I try to hurry through chores. Sometimes I get lucky and can make it out to fish, hunt or shoot. I work a lot but I want to make sure my family is taken care of.

  7. I'm glad you had a good class...

I've dropped pistols and carbines before during training. If you are pushing hard it can happen. Purposely throwing a handgun down just to show that it truly is drop safe is a bit extreme to me. I have seen other instructors do it but only on their personal guns. I'm not throwing mine down just to prove a point that I already believe.

Getting ridiculed for not participating in that drill would probably not go over well with me.

I have friends that I trust 100% that have taken classes there and really enjoy it. I have other friends that I trust 100% that left before the end of the first day due to poor instructor attitudes and getting lip from the instructors for not participating in things the student considered unsafe.

If you had a good time I think going back is a great idea. I have a couple of places that I go back to every year. I also try to add one new school or instructor each year to continue to get different experiences. I always get something good or bad from each new school.

I hope you offer other AAR's as you continue your training journey, Mark

AFAIK no one didn't do the drop drill so I'm not sure how they would have responded. They didn't ridicule anyone. I had read online somewhere that someone said they make you drop your guns and then someone said they didn't. I was just saying that the drop drill was part of our class.
