I do not have my HCP yet and I have read the law about having an unloaded gun on your person/in your car. I was just wondering if anyone thought that I would get in trouble for transporting like this... handgun unloaded, no mag, zipped closed in a case. Said case in bottom of duffel bag main compartment with other supplies (hearing/eye protection, cleaning supplies, etc) on top, in same compartment and then zipped closed. empty mags in a closed case in first side compartment with other supplies (tools, more cleaning supplies) and zipped closed. Ammo in unopened boxes in second side compartment and zipped closed. It is more convenient to carry one duffel bag. But, if you guys think I could get into trouble for this setup, I would stick to using multiple bags. Thanks for your informed responses.

I just wanted to say thanks to all of you. You have made me feel welcome. It sounds like I need to practice some 15 yard shooting with my little 22. I've shoot quite a bit from 10 yards and closer. But nothing longer that 10 yards.

By the way, what does the shooting test consist of?

Ahh, Black Rifle Disease. I have that also. Not as sick with BRD as I am with HgD (Handgun Disease). I do want a 22lr like the GSG5 or Kel-Tec SU-22, and a 5.56 of some kind.

For now I only own one gun, a Beretta U22 NEOS. I know, its not great for personal defense. But, it's my first gun. I wanted something cheap to shoot while I'm learning the basics. I'm going back and forth on which gun to get next, FNP40 or a PX4 Storm. I will be getting my CCW permit in the future. I've heard you can use a 22lr pistol during your CCW shooting test. Does anyone know if this is true? I'm divorced, about to be laid-off from work, and looking forward to this opportunity to seek a new line of work. I have two pets, a Jack Russel TERROR, and a Texas rat snake. I would love to own at least one handgun in all the major calibers. like I said, I'm an addict.
