  1. As always, it's easier to blame an inanimate object instead of the person. After all, it's harder for an object to defend itself.

With that said, I'm sure there are some who let the power on carrying a gun go to their head. Luckily that seems to be a self-correcting problem most of the time.

  2. No, we're thinking of the same thing; I'm just real bad at geography.

No worries. That situation does seem to be pretty straight forward. Hopefully that event wasn't a result of the Zimmerman case. And I really hope it isn't a sign of things to come.

I find it interesting that the news is reporting both shooters as white, the younger guy seems to have some native American or something in him.

  3. No, I'm very clear what my opinions are and why I have them. What ever biases I have I am aware of and will freely admit to you. One of those biases is against wanna be mall ninjas.

I think Mark may have been talking to me with that post.

I'm glad you clarified your position. I have a bias against mall ninjas as well. If Zimmerman was simply trying to protect his neighborhood then I have no issues with him. However, if he was out looking for a fight then he gets whatever comes to him.

The term witch hunt was no more dramatic then the ones claiming Zimmerman was "stalking" Martin. I'm tired of hearing terms like that and I thought your pursue/confront comment was more of the same. It seems like I was mistaken, and I apologize for that.

  4. And that's why LEOs are the ones tasked to approach/pursue "suspicious" characters.

Where are you getting this? Everything I've read said that followed Martin and called the police, just like neighborhood watch is supposed to do.

He didn't chase him down the street or anything. Any it looks like Martin approached Zimmerman, not the other way around. But don't let that interrupt your witch hunt. Cheers!

  5. Well we can get the wife's together to run them through a fun day of torture. I've got a few my wife hates to fire or flat out refuses to fire. Mainly my 454 lever, my steel skeleton stocked AK and my Enfield in 303 British and she's a little weird about shotguns, she loves to shoot the Mossy Tac Cruiser, the 535 and the coach gun but won't touch the Winchester 97, all being 12 ga.

Still though I'm glad she has taken an interest in shooting, and it's good to see that there are other wives that are joining their husbands at the range.

Those are some pretty good thumpers, it's not really a surprise she's not all that excited about shooting them. My wife is nowhere near ready for anything like that yet.

We need to have a Clarksville area TGO shoot at Montgomery county shooting complex or somewhere.

  6. That's some good shooting. My wife will only shoot my AR's and the .22's. Her favorite is (now hers) a 10/22 scoped w/ bull barrel, but I've got 4 so I can share.

I'm still working with her on the AR. The stoutest thing she's fired so far is a .22MAG.

She asked to go get some more targets and ammo today, said she wants to work on her accuracy with the lever action some more. :)

  7. I recently bought .22 rifles for the wife and myself. A henry lever-action for her and a Marlin model 60 for me.

Got out to the range today and got to put some rounds downrange. Had a great time and just had to brag on her a little.

She struggled with the sights for a little while, but she got it figured out and started shooting great. Her last group was her best, using my model 60.

    That's a 8" target at about 10 meters. I'm stoked with that!
