Speaking of 45acp, major; I've been cleaning up my storeroom/tool/safe area today. Found some goodies that I'd put out of the way on a shelf and had covered it up.
2 cases of Seller&Bellot 230gr 45.
Wonder what else I've mislaid? That's quite a find! I'm happy if I come across a half a box I've misplaced.

I may have missed it in the discussion but if you like the XDS why not just get one in 9mm? That leaves more 45 acp for me...

A little thread necromancy here but I didn't want to start another "Gander Mountain sucks" thread when there were already a few here.
I went in this morning to look at a Beretta 20 gauge O/U shotgun. I stood at the gun counter for about five minutes. The sales guy is standing and watching another sales guy help the only other customers at the gun counter. Finally he looks up and says "#34, customer #34". I look around to make sure there is no one else there then kind of give him a "hey bud, no one's here but me" look. He looks away from me and in a loud voice says "If you'd like help at the firearms counter please take a number and wait to be called". Surprisingly I didn't wait. In fairness to that jackass though he saved me a good bit of money. When I got home I called Whittaker's in Kentucky and they had the same shotgun for several hundred dollars less.
Screw Gander Mountain.

Monkey Edge are good folks. Congrats on the blade.

I love their prices but I didn't have a great buying experience with them the one time I used them (the experience was the reason it's only been once).

What does a nice "lightly used" 20 gauge Citori O/U cost these days?
This guy was asking $1300 but as usual the deal wasn't what it seemed. He told me it was his personal weapon but he had a FFL so he had to charge me sales tax and background check. I didn't even go look at it.

Well what was it?
Oh yeah, a Benelli M2 Field.- 1

Asinine, PC bullcrap. The military has run off all of the leaders. Only the adminstrators and managers remain.

Gander has put in a concerted effort marketing and selling guns and ammo over the lat year. Prices are spotty on guns but at least the now have a good selection of most ammo.
You try Academy Sports?
Buds?I mentioned in the original post that Bud's was actually higher than Gander. I ended up buying from Whittaker's and save $200 off of Gander's price. Plus, I ordered it by phone at lunchtime yesterday and picked it up at my FFL at lunchtime today. Fantastic customer service.

Looks good. I've painted two and ended up selling both. What kind of scope is that?

It's apparent these people are douches. You're going to need to do the following. 1. Put up no trespassing signs on your property. Next time the kids throw rocks in your yard call the cops and have them arrested if they are juveniles. If not have the parents arrested if possible. It's obvious the parents aren't going to stop them. 2. Shoot the dog, bury it, and don't tell anyone. (shoot, shovel, shut up method). Sent from my mind using ninja telepathy.
Don't do #2. This dog has no idea that his owners are douchebags. Killing the dog would make you a douchebag, much as suggesting that a dog be killed because of his owners is douchebaggish.

Gander Mountain is cheaper than Buds on a firearm price (but I'll bet Whittaker Guns will still beat them both).

You guys are making a strong case for taking a look at the Citori. Thanks for all the feedback so far.

Hey folks, I'm looking for a 20 gauge shotgun with a 26" barrel. Something I can bird hunt with or shoot skeet/trap. I'm not looking to break the bank but I want to buy quality.
Right now my top two contenders are the Benelli M2 and the Beretta A400. I've read great reviews of both and don't think I could go wrong with either. I've also found a lightly used Browning Citori in the same price range that has piqued my interest. Any other models I should look at in that price range?

My cheapo harbor freight belt sander sharpens everything. Fine grit sandpaper and a leather belt fix it all, even INFI.

Love it Mav, I carry my XM-18 every day.
-
Hey David, How are you looking as far as .45 and .308 projectiles? I'll probably come out tomorrow morning and see you.

Easy solution. Just carry them both.
Or the Oh Shoot version. Just carry them both and about five more. :D

If I had known about this before I had bought a half dozen of the FN mags I would have considered it since my Sig 716 takes the SR25 mags but I don't think it would be worth it at this point.
Surprisingly the FN mags are not hard to find at all right now and the price seems to have come down on them. I paid $36.99 with my dealer discount at Brownells for mine and got $5 shipping.

Very interesting, looks like a well made product. Starting price of $420 though...

Okay guys, dumb question time. Ive never built an AR before. If I buy one of the PSA lower build kits and upper build kits will that be all i need (other than barrel, handguard and sights)?
Anyone around Knoxville want to have a get together/ building party? -
BTW, I am really thinking about building it as a pistol caliber AR. Im not sure, but maybe, .45, 10mm, 9mm. Ive sent an email inquiring about some possibilities
Looking forward to hearing what you find out.- 1
