Anyone have a shield plus or fired one yet? I think i am going to pick one up. I held one Friday and liked it. Want something smaller than my daily carry G19. Was planning on picking up a 1911 then then the shield plus came out.
I put about 100 hand loads and 50 Speer 124 gr. gold dots through mine last week. No issues.

Nice! I have one of the ones with D2 steel in auto. I like it but its BIG! Looking at their web site, I see a mini, but it doesn't look like it is available in mini auto...anyone know different?
The mini wasn't available at BladeHQ when I first checked, so I used the "notify me" option. Received an email about a week later that it was available. Purchased one and a few days later it was out of stock again.
I didn't see any other websites at the time that had them available.
I've carried this knife since I received it and like it a lot. Very smooth operation. Specs show it's heavier than most of my usual auto's that I carry but it's not noticeable in the pocket.

I’ve never had a pair of Lucky jeans. My kids have. They both said they were like a cheap hotel...no ballroom.
not nice, lol. maybe they were getting ladies jeans!

I've given up on Levy's (politics) and Wrangler both due to inconsistent fit. They're not the most durable or price friendly but I've really found I like Lucky jeans. You can usually find them on sale for $50-60.
interesting note, when you unzip the fly, there's a tag that says "you got lucky". I assume that's for someone other than yourself that's doing the unzipping.

If you're interested in taking a training class but don't have the 400-500 round for the day, Agape is currently providing ammo for participants. At a cost of course.

I've taken several classes from them and will do it again as soon as I'm able. Health issues put a damper on my training. Their range is near Coopertown which is a great location for me. They are good at instructions and monitoring students performance, quick to call someone out who is not following the safety rules. You get plenty of shooting and I think they have chosen well in their selection of exercises. I really like the people, no foul language and no bravado. They don't waste time telling you a lot of war stories, etc. Level 1 course starts out a little slow as they cover the 4 safety rules, safety procedures, and range rules, then cover the basics of a firearm and draw. However, well before the first hour is over you will have emptied a few magazines. For level 2 and above they cover the safety rules and procedures, then go right into shooting, starting off with drills you learned in previous classes. Each class usually has two competitions. I haven't taken any classes since the covid-19 shutdown, so things may have changed.
Cons (but not deal breaker for me): For smaller classes they may only have 1 instructor on site. I really think for safety there should always be 2. They only teach what everyone else teaches. If you have special needs such as physical limitations you maybe out of luck. I'm not saying they discriminate against handicaps, I'm saying they don't offer out of the box solutions for people physically not able to do a drill the way they teach it. If there were more instructors on sight maybe this would not be a problem.
Our church security team has used Agape for about 3 years now. Quality, experienced instructors, and as Safety-First stated, they're more interested in teaching than bragging on what they can do.
Handgun classes begin with the basics, safety and shooting fundamentals and proceed through shooting on the move and using cover to room clearing in a shoot house. A Tac4 classes introduces physical and mental stress.
Our team also took their non-firearm classes, non-aggressive subject control, hard empty hand (spear technique) and disarming techniques.
Overall, I would highly recommend training with Ken and his team.

Just got home today. No issues with SW on either end. Also, props for the Apache case from Harbor Freight.

Our main breaker is on the north end of the house. main circuit board is in the laundry about 10 feet to the south. Lee ran wiring from our circuit board to just outside the garage, on the opposite end of the house. Now we only have to roll the generator outside of the garage to plug in. Also, it's not visible from the road and thus hopefully less susceptible to theft.

Mind sharing how much it cost for Lee Company to do the wiring job? I've considered something similar but never pursued it much. TIA
It was around $1100 for our house. When I bought the generator, I had planned on just connecting it to an outlet on the porch to backfeed the system. Found out that's a big no-no. Hated to spend that much but feel much more comfortable with the existing setup.

Yes, on the case. I've never found a reason to put a lock on a gun.
Thanks for your info

It’s not necessary to use a TSA lock on a gun case. I didn’t use one last time I flew and won’t use one. Outer luggage yes, but not the gun case.
So any of the stupid locks that have come with all the guns I've bought over the years should be fine?

I got this one off of Amazon, it was about $6. Honestly, the fishing wasn't anything to write home about, I did all of my fishing in the Everglades. Had a good time, caught some bass that wouldn't have impressed me here, and got to see to see a bunch of alligators. This was my first venture staying in Southeast Florida. Gotta say I don't much care for it. I've been to the Ft. Myers area a couple of times and like it much better.
Thanks!

It went off without a hitch. The agent in Nashville asked me to show her the pistol so that she could verify that it was unloaded. I already had the slide locked back on it so I didn't have to handle it. She complimented me on the pistol (Kimber Micro) and told me to enjoy my trip. The agent that I dealt with on my return flight in Fort Lauderdale wasn't nearly as friendly, but didn't give me a hard time. He told me that it was not necessary to open the box, he just had me sign the form saying that it was unloaded.
Other than that, I found it handy to keep my key on a caribener type keychain inside my backpack that I carried on.
Good to hear. I'm planning to go to Harbor Freight tomorrow to pick up an Apache case. Where did you pick up your TSA compatible lock? And more importantly, how was the fishing? We're planning on mostly surf fishing at Fort Myers.

After 2 power outages last year we bought a Ryobi 8500/10000 generator and had Lee company wire the house to take care of most of our needs. We now can power both our refrigerator and separate freezer, most lights and our media room. Most important, without electricity our sewer pump is out so we have about 8 hours of capacity in the tank before things start to back up. Verizon's coverage is so bad in our house that we had to get a booster? to get consistent cell service and it's connected to our Xfinity modem so that when we lose power we have no communication with the outside world.
I'm convinced that now that I have one we'll never lose power again, lol.
I highly recommend Lee company to wire it to your system. We had 3 other electric companies give us bids and Lee was the only one that really had the experience and a plan on the best way to set up a system for our needs.

10-Ring,
How did it go? I'm headed to Southern Florida via Southwest Airlines next week to do some fishing and would like to carry my weapon. I have never flown with a firearm before and want to make sure I have all the bases covered.

I would bet the majority of guys standing in line to buy ammo at Academy are buying just to resale. When people stop paying 80 cents to a dollar a round for 9mm on armslist and gunbroker, the shelves will start to fill again.

I can recommend this model. Just received it and had no problem whatsoever removing and replacing the rear sight on my M&P. Other M&P's sights that I've replaced have been really tight. It seems to be of good quality. I was surprised by how heavy and beefy it is. Instructions are easy to follow up and setup was quick. It's also currently about $143 on Amazon.
I've replaced sights on around half a dozen M&P's just using a punch because I am cheap and didn't want to risk getting a crap pusher. Sure wish I had bought this to begin with.

Wondered where you went Jim. You use to burn it up with a wheel gun at the steamplant matches aka, the old Gallatin Gun Club. Of course they've moved to Macon County, north of Hartsville.
Now called MTSA, 175 Dry Branch Road, Dixon Springs, Tennessee 37057
There shooting IDPA 1st Saturday of the month. There's still a couple wheel gun guys there.
BTW, you don't have to be a member to shoot the matches.
Welcome back Jim!
I think 3 were shooting revolver at that match. 4 if King wouldn't have wussed out.
