  1. I loved the Abita tasting in Abita Springs, LA. Every Saturday, free, and self-serve. My and me buddy would start out at Heiner Brau in Covington for an hour, which was also free, and hop over to the Abita brewey which took about ten minutes. I'd down as many turbodogs as I could before they'd start they actual tour and by the time everything was down we had ourselves a pretty good buzz goin all for free.

  2. Ha! My vehicle itself isn't even something of value. I kid, but this does bring to mind what happened about a week ago where I work. Driver comes back from a run, leaves her car unlocked with the keys in the ignition because she's just gonna run in, grab another order, and run out. Random dude walking by says Hey, free car! Hops in and drives off. I have always locked my doors on delivery and at the store just to be safe, but even I admit that the odds of that actually happening are pretty freaking low. Although I'm guessing the odds don't mean a whole lot to her anymore.

  3. I turned into a beer snob in Baton Rouge. Me and a buddy went into this liquor store, Southdown's that had A TON of micro/craft brews and stuff from all over the world. We started trying random beers based on the hilarity of the name and after awhile we had had everything that got imported to Baton Rouge. I've got a giant collection of a couple hundred different empty bottles from what we tried, and that's only half the collection as we had a draft when we both moved. I still drink cheap beer when I wanna get drunk, as it's just expensive to try and do that with anything decent. Oh, and to whoever was saying they like Russian Imperial Stouts and that it's like pouring syrup, if you can find it you should try a Scottish stout, Old Motor Oil. That stuff makes Guinness look like water, and it lives up to the name. I haven't been able to find it around Nashville though, and I don't know if it gets imported to TN or not.

Anybody know anything about that^? All the info I find online only talks about the 5.56 version. I've heard 1 in 11 is the best twist rate for 6.8 but this comes in 1 in 7. Does anybody know how the 6.8 performs with that kind of twist?

  5. It looks like I'm about to start reloading in the calibers .45 acp, .308, 12 gauge, and 6.8 spc. That being said, what kind of cost am I looking at for ALL the equipment I would need to do this? Not the bullet pieces and dies and powders and whatnot, but just the presses and the reloading bench and all that. All the hardware for a basic setup (nothin ridiculously fancy). I was gonna run out to the Reloader's Bench tomorrow after work and spend most of the day probably working all this out for myself of specifically what I want so I would have a good specific idea of cost, but being that I recently short circuited the oven I'm gonna be spending the day at home waiting on the repair guy, so I thought I would ask about all this stuff here.

  6. Ok, I'm considering an SBR project in 6.8. Can anybody who has gotten into these kinds of things before give me an idea of what exactly I'm doing in "building" and SBR AR and what kinda bankroll I'm lookin at on somethin like this. From what I've looked around at so far it I'm interested in a minimum 10.5 inch barrel for the project. I found a Wilson Combat one in 11.3 that I really like. I mean am I really just buying the pieces and putting them together, and paying the ATF to let me do it, or is there more to it then that?

  7. When I was 18 months old my family was at Disneyland (or Disneyworld I can never remember, but it's the one that's in Florida). I was walking around on top of a table with neither parent paying attention to me, until I walked off the table and smashed my head open on the concrete. There was no talk of lawsuits or settlements or any of that nonsense. Hel they didn't even give us a ride back from the hospital. My parents realized that they had nobody to blame but themselves and if they weren't divorced they would STILL be arguing over which one was supposed to be watching me. Also, interesting fact about the Disney places, they have a vast system of underground tunnels specifically designed for getting people out during emergencies.

  8. If it's friends or family who are being nosy, I usually just growl and glare at them to get the message across. It works. I don't know why but for some reason in my family if the older sibling is grouchy it's okay, but if it's me then everybody wants to know whats wrong, or everybody thinks I'm being cruel and disrespectful, or everybody thinks I dont love them, or whatever else you can think of. One of these days I need to ask my brother how he got the family to just leave him alone. I don't really have a problem with people outside friends or family being nosy. I must not have a very friendly demeanor.
