:dropjaw: Wow! Hopefully this is indicative of things to come with falling prices in the firearm market. May be some good prices on silencers are around the corner...:x:

My thought on suppressors is that IF (and that's a BIG "if") they are actually deregulated we won't see the prices fall any time soon... in fact, I imagine the surge in demand would make prices stay the same or even trend upwards for awhile.  Eventually, they would come down after a year or so after just about everyone who was shy about getting one due to paperwork and taxes got theirs, and then things would  settle down.

I'm just barely hopeful that the HPA would actually get passed under Trump.  I think, as with all politicians, we'll see a whole lot less of what folks hoped for in his campaign actually come to fruition during his administration.  That's just li'l ol' pessimistic me talkin'.  Of course, I also am on record as thinking Hillary was gunna cream him in the election... I obviously know nothing.  :-D

  2. Hm.  I like CZs metal guns a lot, but haven't really cared  for any of their poly offerings.  If the trigger feels as good as they say, I may be interested.  Curious to see street pricing. I'm at work so I didn't watch the video, if that was mentioned.

  3. Made it in and out of Academy in 15 minutes this morning with my Lead Sled for $100, Drago XT double AR soft case for $50, two $10 50 cal metal ammo cans, and some nice $10 long sleeve shirts.  I'm pretty happy with that.  I had $125 in gift cards to use, so it feels like I made out like a bandit, haha!

The line of folks getting the gun deals was pretty long, but everything seemed pretty orderly and calm.

Ugh...sometimes I hate how being responsible with money forces me to pass on a fantastic deal like this.

The. WORST. I've limited myself to three ridiculously stupid purchases which I have already made.  I am not going to buy anything else this week.

  5. Holy crap. $13 M&P mags?!?!?!  I still have almost a dozen in the packaging... must... resist!

And $15 for extended M&P 45 mags?!?! If anyone in the Nashville area is jumping on these mag deals and is willing to let me get in on the action, please get me 2 of the 14rd M&P45 mags.  I don't have an M&P45 yet, but it's on my short list and at that price I'd happily toss a few mags in a drawer to await their hosts arrival.  I might add 2 15rd M&P 40 mags, too.

I simply can't justify 10 more pistol mags for myself right now. :/

  6. All the little modeling practice amps from the big names these days are pretty good.

I have big amps from Rivera, Fender, and Ampeg, but 90% of the time I play a two watt Vox Li'l Night Train tube head through a 4x12 speaker cab I got for $10 a few years ago.  2 watts out of a tube  amp can get run-you-out-of-the-room loud, but still allows you to get into some  great driven tones.  If I want effects or amp modeling, I have a DigiTech multi-effects unit with an expression pedal.

The modeling amps are getting better and better all the time, but there's nothing like the responsiveness of a little tube amp, imho.  So much control of your tone just there at at the guitar... love it!

  7. Huge fan of the Vortex stuff here.  I have the Sparc II and the newer Sparc II AR and love them both. I like the Sparc II AR a little better, though.  It just disappears (the housing) when I have both eyes open and the dot is strong and crisp for me (mild astigmatism) making things super fast and easy.

The day I sighted it in I shot some at 200 yds just to see what I could do with it.  I put 4 out of 5 rounds of cheap Monarch steel 223 in a 6" round shoot 'n see target.  The target backing was riddled with holes so I dunno where #5 went.  I'm not great with rifles, so I was pretty happy with that.

I like the Sig Romeo 5 as well, but haven't bought one myself yet.  A buddy has one and loves it.  I may grab one this weekend for poops and giggles and throw on my latest lightweight build.  Will report back here if I do.

  8. I'm shooting some 7.62x54 from the 50s.  Two spam cans down without an issue so far.  I got some 38 special lrn that an older gentleman at my church gave me about a decade ago.  He found and told me it must have been his father's, because he never had a 38.  I shot one box and kept the second for posterity.  Shot fine.

  9. I'm a hoarder by nature, so yea I have a buttload of mags, etc, but that's ot necessarily election related.  Funny enough, the last gun I bought was a single shot 444 Marlin... not exactly on the endangered species list, lol!

  10. 4-5 months ago brass 223 (wolf gold, pmc) was available for $299/k delivered from a few online retailers.  As Hillary's lead (or so we were told) became stronger it crept up a bit to the $330ish mark mentioned above.

Remember, the price was still falling when it hit $300 but then went right back up a bit.  Unlike 22lr, we haven't really experienced an extended draught of 223, just price spikes and then softening.  I honestly expect the nottom to fall out of gun sales for awhile, especially EBRs.  No reason to horde and panic now, and most folks on the fence bought theirs last week.  Sorry, Springfield. (referencing the Saint)

I think we will see a continued softening in the tacticool market.

And when lowers get back down to $38 each, I'm buying a dozen. ;-)  Oh, and $7 GI mags?!?  Count me in!

  11. All of this is just corporate/conglomeration structuring.  This will not effect any  of the S&W products and guns you are used to.  Honestly, this thread is probably the sum total that you will ever see/notice of this entire thing.  Smith has been building their company steadily and wisely for years.  Crimson Trace, including all the brands above are now under the umbrella.

With a Trump win, I believe we will see gun sales cool... quickly.  Wise brands are those who are ready for booms and busts.  Smith has been vocal and upfront that they want to broaden their revenue stream for some more stability. I think they have been a great job so far.

I am, however, worried that they need to come up with a fresh mainstream handgun design.  Not a tweaked M&P, but something of substance.  The M&P pistol is about a decade old or so and I believe is getting close to reaching saturation for the product line.

That one should work well enough.  If you're going to spend $55, why not just up the buy and get a full bolt carrier group?

Agree 100%.  much easier to just get a complete BCG, not just the bolt.  If you're worried about a part possibly breaking, it would make sense to have an entire extra unit ready to go, rather than just the bolt.

Have you already gotten you "oops" spring/small parts kit squared away?
