off topic but have you had any trouble carrying at dick's?I was there a week ago and they told me only leo could carry, and for anyone wanting to size a holster,etc..you have to check in your weapon at front desk and show its unloaded.I would not do that because mine was loaded, and if I remember correctly you can only take your hg out if in danger

I can see it now....

Thanks for the info. I went by Sportsman's last night and he does not rent, but did try to convince me of a 23 as well.
last time i was there he had rent prices hung on the wall by the range, must have changed it recently

I know sportsmans rents, but I did not know cartershooting rented handguns,I thought they just rented ar's?

without a carry permit since I do not now have now and possibly might not be able to get that?
why wouldn't you?if you can buy one from a dealer you should have no problem getting a permit

I would say it's best not to unless he ask, then I would say(in this order)unloaded, locked in trunk, ammo in glove box.

Maybe we should carry cap-guns then... since presentation and noise were effective enough in this case.
you took the words out of my mouth

Welcome to the forum!!!
In order to get a carry permit in Tennessee, you basically have to do three things.
1. Take a carry class.
2. Pay $115 at the driver's liscense station along with filing an application.
3.) Get fingerprinted.
That's really it. I did those three in two days and now I am just waiting for the permit to come in. Here is the state website for info on this...
http://www.tennessee.gov/safety/handgunmain.htm
Also, about the check at the store...that is different. That is a very quick on the spot check that just takes a minute.
Hope this helps!!!
I had to sit at the health clinic for two hours waiting on an original copy of my birth certificate after a 30 minute drive to the dmv in cleveland.
you didn't include that step...lol

all this no carry here or there talk is why I carry a booklet on where you can or can not carry and the laws in other states.I'll look and see if I can find a site you can order one from or you can call sportsman's supply here in chatt, they carry them

took me six weeks including being denied over a ticket from way back.had to go downtown and pick up a copy of the court mumbo-jumbo saying it wasn't drug related or anything like that.

hi newbie here
I live in chattanooga and am looking for a good place to shoot outdoors.I have a membership now but I get so tierd of paying $10 a session and high ammo prices. If I buy online i could save $50 per 500 rounds and still have the same quality range ammo that i'm not allowed to use at my range.
anybody know of a good place to go that doesn't leave a bad taste in your mouth and feeling ripped off after.I would even be willing to leave chattanooga for a good place.
thanks in advance!...
CCing when posting is not as TN says it should be.
