  1. Thanks.... it was a good show last year. The place on Callahan was OK, but I suspect the LC location is better. Thank! i look forward to the time/dates.
  2. Thanks... I thought it was a great show last year. Was looking forward to going again. Lenoir City is fine... just don't want to miss it.
  3. Last year, Smoky Mtn. Gun Collectors had a show in north Knoxville on Callahan Road (early Feb). Anyone know if they are doing this show again this year? I can't seem to find anything on-line about it if they are. Thanks!
  4. I bought the Taurus TCP about a year ago and have had great luck with it. A couple of mis-feeds, FTF early along, but after 100 rounds, it's functioning great. I polished the ramp and took a little off the nose of the extractor. There's a DIY thread on taurusarmed.com on how to do this. At the gun show in Knoxville last weekend, you could pick up the TCP for $219. saw one dealer that had it with the nylon case and 2 mags for this price, but most of them were in the new packaging...a plastic box, no nylon case, and only one mag. I think this is what we'll see more of in the future. A friend bought an LCP for $279, and the dealer payed the state fee... out the door at about $300 with tax. If money were no object, I've have the Sig 238. No doubt the top of the pile of 380's. But, I'm happy with my TCP and would buy it again.
  5. What are the woodcrafting classes about and when are they?
  6. Saw Ethan Becker at the KaBar booth too. My boys both wanted the new Eskabar knives. We got the last two they had. $30 each.... great deal! It was a great Blade Show. I came home with a Burnley "Kwaiken". Had never seen one before. Very cool knife. The Spirit of Steel Show will be in Knoxville again first weekend of August. While a fraction of the size of the Blade Show, it is a good show. I was absolutely worn out after all day at Blade.
  7. I should add, that's an acid etched blade with what he calls his "viral" pattern. I thought it was damascus when I first glanced at it.
  8. Here's a shot of the Lucas Burnley "Kwaiken" I picked up at the Blade Show on Sat. It's 7 7/8" overall, 3 3/4" cutting edge, D-2 steel, wrapped handle (over sharkskin) with a Kydex sheath. The 9mm round is just added for scale. Very nice feel. Slender and easy to carry. The paracord on the sheath goes on your belt and allows you to grab the knife and pull it out quickly. Really well thought out.
  9. Well, the Tactical Gear Show Wasn't all that big. It took maybe 30 minutes away from the Blade Show for me.Going Gear had a big display with a lot of MAxpedition packs. Looked at some with my son for possible use when he goes to college this fall. Picked up a Lucas Burnley knife called a "Kwaiken". Really caught my eye and feels great in the hand. I'll try to post a couple of photos this week. Saw some good friends, did a 40 mile bike ride this morning on the Silver Comet Trail with my boys and some good friends, then headed back home.
  10. Thank goodness I'm going down 411S from Maryville. Never much traffic there. I think the tactical gear show will be a nice addition. More opportunities to come home poor! I know I want a small JetBeam LED flashlight... my boys want the new Eskabar knife. I'm sure I'll come home with a knife of some kind too. If I had hit that $200million Powerball last week, I'd buy one of everything!
  11. Anyone besides me headed to Atlanta for the Blade Show? Should be great this year. They are combining the Blade Show with a tactical gear show. Oh boy... more ways to spend money!
  12. Is he moving to Farragut or just opening an additional location?
  13. While not nearly as fun as a handgun, have you guys seen the electronic bug swatters that Harbor Freight sells? They are a blast, and you can hear the bugs sizzle when you hit them! They really work! http://www.harborfreight.com/lawn-garden/pest-control/electronic-fly-swatter-40122.htm Just resist the temptation to try it out on your spouse/kids/dog. <G>
  14. 45-70 would make a dandy bee load!
