I want to clarify that I did not mean to imply ignorance on your part, I have just seen those two get confused many times. I hope my post did not seem out of line, and if it did I apologize.
no apology needed. Its all good. I do know there is a difference with the 7.62 ammo. The ignorance was on my buddies part.. He was the one telling me it was x54r. I still think I got a super deal if this stuff shoots, I'll just have to locate a 308 and try it out.

I've heard it is junk and can blow up without provocation....might outta send it to me before something bad happens....only looking out foryour safety :)
LOL, I'll have just have to hang on to it for a while. I think I have another buddy that has a 308. He's not buying ammo at this time so maybe I can shoot a couple of rounds to make sure it is safe.

The issue you have is (and you probably already know this but...) it is not 7.62x54r, it is 7.62x51 i.e. .308. It will not work in your Mossin or Type 53.
yup your right,it wont shoot in anything i currently own. so now I can keep it and use it as a trading peice or just wait for a good deal to come along on a nice 308 rifle.

I bought some ammo from a buddy of mine tonight. He said it was 7.62x54R. When he set it on the table it was in a sealed green battle pack all wrote in a foreign language. I got it home and resarched it. Turn out to be Indonesian pindad 308 ammo. From what I can tell from their website they manufacture for military only. So my question is this, Is this ammo any good and I paid $40 for 200 rounds so did I get a good deal or not? Oh yea it was produced in 86.

Several comments were made about the beards of Sweets and Spots and got me really missing mine so I just thought I'd share this.

I got my shipping sticker in the mail 2 days ago. Boxed it up and shipped it out this morning. Now im standing on pins and needles in hopes that they will honor the warranty.
Ok S&W signed for my pistol March 1, I got it back today, They included a letter stating that they replaced the extractor. I cannot believe it took 3 months.
Seeing as this is my first time ever having to send a firearm in for repair, have any of you ever had to wait this long to get your firearm back? And by the way it was a free repair.

I think Im going to try and resize this pic and see if I can fold it into an envelope that I can fit my HCP in, so if I ever get stopped by the law i'll hand them them the envelope so they may get a little chuckle out of it.... I hope anyway

I see this said here every time there's a Maryville show.
I didn't know David even bothered with this venue, but I'd assume he would be about the only highlight.

This is so true. I have been to this show twice and it has been a flop both times. I didnt even bother to drive by and see what was for sale in the parking lot.

Happy Easter everyone. I have a buddy of mine who is looking to sell his Jr.Colt .25 1968 model. It has a few small spots of surface rust and no magazine. I have tried to research this and the prices are all over the place as far as trying to find an average value so I was wondering what some of you would consider a good price for this little jewel?

Thanks for the links.. Mugshots worked out well for me.. The man I suspect of robbing my house 2 years ago is once again in jail and mugshots had a new photo of him. If it was not for this website I would not have recognised him. From his pic he put on about 30 pounds.

Its funny, with the links posted as to Fla carry laws and I just had a friend get back 2 days ago from Fla. While he was there he stopped in a local gun shop and they would not sell him a hand gun because he is not a Fla resident -would'nt even offer to ship to ffl here and they also told him that Tn carry permit is not valid in Fla. If I were going to Fla anytime soon I would do as Scwrod mentioned in post #14 and make the phone call.

The armory shows are terrible. Very small and not many good deals to speak of.

Mosin Nagant Crates
in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
Posted · Edited by z90HD
I think i'll be ok here as I AM NOT selling these, Im only posting that I know where to get a large load of Mosin Nagant shipping crates. Found a load in town today for $5 bucks each and they even had some for akm or fps or some kind of 3 letter ak variant. They are stored out side but she will help ya dig through and find a nice one like we did today. I guess there were about 50 more or less to go through. If your interested PM me and I'll send ya her number. They are in Maryville and if this link works here is a stock pic I found online of what I talking about. http://www.keepshooting.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/s/u/surplus-wooden-crates-mosin-nagant-b.jpgand pic number2 http://www.keepshooting.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/s/u/surplus-wooden-crates-mosin-nagant-2b.jpg I was very suprised as to how heavy these were so if you getting more than one bring some help to laod them, the wondefull lady selling these would appreciate it.
