  1. That's exactly what it is. 192 rounds of AP (Armor Piercing) made by Lake City in 4 bandoleers. Each bando having six 8 round clips.

wow i feel lucky this is the closest i have been to a M1 Garand! not bad for 10 bucks!
  2. Deer hunting is a good way to start. A 30-06 with the proper ammo (130-150 grain bullet is my preferance) , a good knife, a good pair of boots, orange vest and hat, and any other "comfort" items you may need or want. Hunter safety course, Lisences ect., ect.. I hope your girl friend wants more from deer than just "jerky", because you are in for an expensive surprise!

Deer hunting is a fine sport indeed, but it can't be all covered here. Find someone in your area to "mentor" you.

It would help us, to help you, if we knew how old you were, did you live in the city or county, any hunting experience at all?

We could probably help you a little better with this info.

never been hunting but have wanted too, im in davidson county in donelson and im 25 years of old age and cant cut the mustard any more :P

  4. A 30-06 is a rifle. A shotgun is very different; and you not knowing the difference means you need to start slowly and learn about your guns before you jump into the woods.

So, first things first, you need to get a hunters education safety course, which is required to get a liscense.

Next you want to explore where you will be able to hunt in your area, and when.

Once you have a place to go, you can buy your hunting liscense (got to buy it every year).

With the paperwork started, swing over to the NRA website and refresh your gun safety rules.

While doing all the above paperwork, you will want to find a range to practice your gun with. You should take it somewhere with a 100-200 yard range, and learn to hit where you aim with it using hunting loads. Part of hunting is being able to hit what you aim at so you kill it --- wounded animals are often inedible (adrelenine ruins the taste in a hurry) and its a pain to track them thru the woods, and a bit cruel to boot, so best to get this skill down.

Spend some time arounds guns to understand the difference between a shotgun and a rifle and the purpose of each.

Hunting is pretty involved. Do not be in a rush to get there, it may even take the better part of this year to reach a point where you have what you need to actually take a deer. It works a LOT better if you can find an experienced buddy to take you along and help you out.

You cannot buy deer meat to my knowledge: no one raises them for food and hunters do not have the liscense to sell their meat. You can buy some jerky or processed meat at a few places, but that is also not super common.

My apologies if I sound overly concerned --- if you know your way around guns and shotgun was just a slip of the pen, you can bypass some of this advice of course. I just have to assume from that sort of comment that you are new to guns, and work from there (?).

the shotgun thing is what i was told by my grandfather so i just repeated it here, thanks for the advice! i will look into all of it
  5. hey all my grandfather has a 30-06 shotgun and im wanting to get into hunting deer for my gf so she can make jerky etc, what exactly do i need to get into hunting deer? if i cant do that is there anyone who sells deer meat in bulk? any and all help and advice would be great!

  6. The service you are looking for is called Dynamic DNS (or DDNS). no-ip,org is one, and they look pretty good as far as I can tell in the two minutes I spent on their site. Some home routers have a feature built into them to talk to a DDNS service so you don't have to have a computer doing the checking in. You might look in your routers config to see if it has this ability.

no-ip is good, i have used it for years for different game servers and such
  7. im currently reading about the m1 garand and i see two things when it comes to ammunition for the m1. 1.it costs alot and supply is running low due to it not being made any more and 2.some places say its not safe to shoot commercial ammunition in it.

while googling i found this link here http://www.garandgear.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=106:shooting-commercial-ammunition-in-your-m1-garand&catid=39 and was wondering if anyone has the gas screw mentioned in the article and does it really do what it says? im only asking cause im saving up for a m1 and dont want to be held down to one brand of ammunition that costs an arm and a leg.

  8. whats up everyone! was just wondering if anyone know of a range maybe in clarksville or some where near donelson that has a M1 Garand that can be rented and shot for a while i have never shot one and have a itch to shoot one!

  9. Holy run on sentence!! To answer your question, at least offer my opinion, you may be able to do something. If you are truly concerned for the well being of the child you can contact DCS. They will investigate. As far as her lying and stealing unless you can prove she is stealing that's a moot point.

we have a picture of her in a expensive piece of clothing she stole from my girlfriend among other things she has stolen
  10. hello all i need some advice from those here who might current or former leo that can help me, my sister is a couple of years younger than me and she has a 1 year old baby who she yells at cause he wont listen, which bothers me and others to no end but she wont listen and thinks she knows more than anyone and thinks her baby is smarter than every other baby, but what kills me is that she will spank him if he dont listen to what she says, she will also hold him and "clean" out his nose or hold him while he crys and text on her phone, she lies, steals and sleeps around, is there anything legally that can be done?
