  1. Men Shot With .357 as They Traced It for Tattoo Pattern Tuesday , January 01, 2008 CHAPARRAL, N.M. — Getting a tattoo can be a painful proposition, but usually it's just the needle you have to worry about. Two men trying to trace a loaded .357-caliber Magnum as a pattern for a tattoo accidentally shot themselves, the Otero County Sheriff's Department said Monday. Robert Glasser and Joey Acosta, both 22, were treated at a hospital in El Paso, Texas, after the shooting Thursday evening in nearby Chaparral. Authorities said Glasser was struck in the hand when the gun accidentally went off, and Acosta was hit in the left arm. Their injuries were not life-threatening, authorities said.
  2. No kidding Boom I'm a pretty lucky guy!!! Actually Rabbi Jim is the person my wife spoke w/ and she said he sounded like a good guy. I'll make sure and let everyone know my opinions on my experience with them.
  3. I'm a new guy here but I plan on joining Owl Hollow for several reasons. I've checked it out and spoke to numerous other folks that have had very good experiences there. I big plus for me is it is literally 5 minutes from my house. So my question for ReefBlueCoupe (or anyone else) is, was that one idiot the only issue you had w/ the range? This is not a loaded question or setup...I'm just making sure I know what I'm getting before I invest my hard earned money.
  4. I posted this under the training thread but then I noticed that thread says it was for training beyond the CCW class....so you'd think I'd learn to read. Has anyone had any experience with S.A.T.S. "Small Arms Training School?" I am registered to attend their CCW class on 1/26. It was a Christmas gift so I have not personally spoke w/ any of the instructors yet. My wife spoke to one of them and she intially got their information from a few sales folks from Academy sports in Cool Springs. Just doing some homework before I speak with them thisw week.

  6. Howdy from a fello newbie from Mid TN.
  7. Decided to not just be a lurker here. I've already read some very good information and opinions here and found some very good links also. I live in Spring Hill, between Franklin and Columbia. I've wanted to get my carry permit for quite some time now and I finally got signed up for a class. With working full time, 4 kids (three in elementry school and a toddler), and my wife attending nursing school fulltime we never seemed to have the time/money to get it done. My wonderful wife and mother decided to send me to a class for my Christmas present and my anniversary (Feb) present it the licesning fee. So I've had a great Christmas and I'm looking forward to 2008. Has anyone had any experience with S.A.T.S. "Small Arms Training School?" I'm supposed to be scheduled to attend my class with them on Jan 26th at the Williamson County Jail. My wife spoke w/ Jim Mauth and she seemed impressed by him and I plan on speaking w/ him this week to confirm everything and get a feel for the school. They were recommended to my wife from some of the sales folks at Academy Sports in Cool Springs. Just curious....
