  1. Thanks BigBoostDSM.....that makes me feel so much better.....
  2. Well I called back in today and now they're telling me check back in 2-3 weeks. Apparently they're waiting on the original application to be "posted" in their system and then they can issue my permit. Everything else has been completed and I was even told that it may already be in their office.......one of these days.
  3. Well I eagerly checked the mail for a week after hearing that dwrd and bubbadavis got their's. I did my fingerprinting days after them so I "assumed" mine would be any day now....well I called Friday and I was informed that some applications didn't "get pulled" and mine was one of them. Not sure what that means but I was told the background came back fine and to call back next week. So no more excitement when the mail comes for atleast a week.
  4. I hope mine will be in tomorrow then....I was just a few days after you dwrd.
  5. She and you have my prayers.....keep us updated.
  6. Welcome aboard from another Spring Hillian. I took my class w/ SATS. They have their permit class up at the Williamson County Jail in Franklin.
  7. Thanks Robin48....looks like a great site.
  8. Congrats guys!! Be safe out there.
  9. 3 weeks and 2 days...starting to keep an eye out for the mailman now. Not really expecting it yet but I can always hope.
  10. Here's a link I finally found doing a search for my question above. http://blog.boiledfrog.us/archives/89-Identifying-the-Differences-Between-the-Taurus-Millennium-and-Millennium-Pro.html
  11. How do I tell the different generation of the PT-145's apart? I've seen a slide rail on some of them but the one pictured on Taurus's website does not have it.
  12. I was just in there myself on Wednesday and thet definately have an awesome selection. However for what I want they are asking $100 more than what Joe at Hero Gear is offering it for. Guess where I'm going....
  13. Thanks for the feedback everyone!!! Man I love this discussion board. Has anyone had any exeperience w/ their customer service? I like the life-time warranty but it doesn't mean much if they don't follow through w/ it.
  14. Boatman why do you prefer the M&P40C? It's funny because that is the other one I've been looking at. Both of them fit my hand better than anything else I've got my little paws on.
  15. Have you been happy w/ your pistols? I'm looking and leaning very (very) heavily towards a Mil Pro PT-145 for my carry weapon. I'd just like to hear about your first hand experiences, good or bad. I've been researching them quite a bit lately and I've pretty much heard that they used to be suspect but they have started putting out quality weapons. What do you think?
  16. Welcome aboard from just south of you.
  17. Welcome aboard...I'm just south of you in Spring Hill. Have you found somewhere to shoot at?
  18. Thank you so much EasilyObsessed for the offer but I'm not able to make it out today. I'll check into Ontarget though and see. For some reason I haven't been able to access their website lately but I'm going to go out there and see what I can get my sweaty lil paws on. Thanks for the tip 2000Silverz28!!! I really liked the Sig and I've heard nothing but great things about them. I'm going to check Sig's website and look at the dimensions.
  19. Welcome aboard....I'll try not to hold that whole lawyer thing againts you.
  20. Thanks guys for the feedback. I was able to shoot a few different pistols today. Beretta 96FS (I believe) .40SW, a sig229 .40sw, SW 357 revolver, a SW 38 special revolver, and a ruger KP95 9mm. I probably shot the beretta the best and the grip felt better in my hand more than the others. The sig shot great but is still a little "fat" for my hand. I really enjoyed shooting the revolvers. I think I like the simplicity of them. The ruger is definately too fat for my hands. It operated smoothly but it shot just "ok." I'm gonna go back and fondle the M&P again and try the Walther PPS on for size. Does anyone know of a mid-tn gun range that has the M&P available to rent?
  21. Yes they still have the $50 mail in rebate and two free magazines.
  22. Looking for feedback on anyone's experience w/ this pistol. I'm looking for my first carry weapon and this SW felt really good in my hand. The grip on the glock 23 was too big for my hands and the grip on the compact XD didn't feel as good as the SW. I have a buddy that has a sig 229 that I'm going to get to shoot but price is also a consideration.
  23. I keep counting but I still keep coming up w/ only two weeks into my wait....
