I had been wanting a 17 hmr for a while and stumbled up on a kel tec pf9 i got a great deal on and thought this is an excellent way to get my 17 hmr. So i traded the PF9 for this new marlin 917s and got a cheap used center point 4-18 x 40 scope. i have the same scope on a 243 and for the money they're great. did a little trigger work on it and went shootin yesterday. Pics are from a struggling cell phone.

shooting from the rest thing in the above pic

25 yds shots at bottom are the first after bore sighting. cranked it up and over to drilling the bullseye.

steped back to 120yds just to see. all 4 shots i was aiming at the red dot. wasn't to happy with the 2 that are way off but the 2 in the red made me do a little dance.

ended up zeroing at about 100 yds and ran about 50 shots through it till it got to dark.

This thing is a lot of fun to shoot.

FYI for the 17 hmr people my findings were the 17gr vmax is much more accurate than the 17gr tnt and 20gr xtp out this thing.
