Opinions on Ruger P345

Recommended Posts

I have been thinking of adding a .45 to the collection and have been checking out the Ruger P345. It feels good in the hand and appears to be a well-made firearm. Anyone own one or have any experience with them, good or bad?

i use to not like RUGERS because they were so bulky but Ruger has rectified the bulk problem of the earlier design, making the gun much more concealable for discreet carry of the weapon. my cousin has a p345 i shot it a few times i like it. i just did not like the locking system on it my cousin lost his key and had to send off for another one. other then that they are a sweet guns :P

I purchased one 2 weeks ago. I went out to the gun range and shot it this past weekend. I put about 150 rouds through it. I really like it. It feels great in the hand. It shot much better than the Para 14-45 that I did have. My accuracy wasn't that great, but it was consistant. That was probably more me than the gun. It has a VERY light trigger after the first shot. The guys on the Ruger forum tell me that it is very comfortable to wear all day with a Crossbreed Supertuck holster. It breaks down, cleans, and goes back together easy. So there. Now you know what I know, which is just my opinion mostly. Take it for what it's worth. Go shoot one. Decide for yourself.

After about 125 rounds, I had a couple FTF, but I think it was due to the feed ramp being dirty because after a good cleaning, I didn't have the problem.

Hey Glockguy, why did your cousin lock his safety anyway? I guess it could be a good feature if you have kids around.

I locked mine because it was easier than putting the normal padlock device on it. Or you could do both. I live alone so I rarely lock any of my guns anyway.
