1892 winchester build

I am starting to build an original 1892 winchester receiver and need some help.  I have a 45 acp barrel blank that I have threaded for the receiver and plan on milling it to the octaganal profile.  I need to know what the dimensions are over the points of an original octaganal barrel at the receiver if anyone has one to measure. This is so I can turn the blank down a little over those dimensions for about a 1/4 of an inch so I can seat the barrel to the shoulder and mark where I will need to put my extractor slot once it is torqued down.

Thanks for the help in advance.

I just looked at mine 38/40 1892 and will have to pull the forearm to get a good measurement and not sure how to do that.

Did not realize the octagon barrels were tapered till now.
