Restricted/Illegal ammunition

Recommended Posts

Hello members! This is my first time on the site. I'm a retired LEO

living in Florida. I own 10+ acres in NE Tennesse, and will be flying

up in September. I carry Aguila IQ rounds in my .45, they're made

out of an aluminum/zinc alloy. Will they be legal to carry in TN.,

or will I have to switch out to JHP's?

Thanks.

Good morning snakebite. I don't know of any restrictions on ammo. I just made a quick scan, very quick because it will put me to sleep, of the ATF State Laws and Ordinances book and found nothing and restricts that ammo.

Welcome to TNG!

As far as i know... the only handgun ammunition that is illegal is the kind designated as "armor piercing." Steel cores, etc. Thats a federal thing.

Are you carrying a 1911? If so, how well do those rounds feed through it? I'm curious.
