If you can find a significantly better deal on the web, by all means go for it, its your money. But if the price difference is marginal, it never hurts to support the local dealers. Whereabouts in East TN are you located?

I find mahoney's to be extremely overpriced....by a lot. I have had great experiences with Gunslingers in Kingsport. Nice people who, if they aren't swamped, love to chat.

You could try Mike's Gun Shop in Tazewell if you're in upper East TN. I went up there for the first time a couple weeks ago and was very impressed. Very nice shop, good selection, reasonable prices, and good people. The best online shop IMO is probably BudsGunShop.com.

I've been in there a couple of times when passing through. Definitely a cool shop that looks like a hole in the wall. Great selection of reloading powders, as well.

If you're ever in Oak Ridge (I doubt it, that much) Austin's Tennessee Firearms will get you set up with what you're after. He's pretty knowledgeable and will get you a great deal, if all the distributors aren't back-ordered until NEXT Christmas.

anybody got a Raptor II? likes/dislikes?

I looked at them when I purchased both of my Kimbers. I think the gun is sort of a two-face (Seinfeld reference). Sometimes I look at it and think it is really cool. Other times I think it is very cheesy and pimp'ish. In the end I went basic with a Custom II and a Pro TLE/RL II.
