    Wife loves the LC9

Do you think it's $100 nicer than the Kel Tec (or whatever the difference in price is)? I've been thinking about one that size for summer carry.
  2. 987 people purchased the deal... that's a heck of a lot of new permits if they go through the whole process. Memphis 1-Day Deals

    need a price check

Goodletsville Gun Shop was 525 out the door fir civilians if you mention TGO. Doesn't have a lot of inventory, but can he anything you want in a couple if days.
  4. Great feeling ain't it? My wife's first trip to the range she almost puked. Second trip she was willing to try a .22 -- five shots in she demanded my Glock 23. I imagine we'll get her a .38 or small 9 mm soon. (fingers crossed!)
  5. The hardest part about it is waiting at the DMV to apply... Which is what I'm doing right now.
  6. +1 And don't forget Patrick "I'm going to face you sideways" Cox with TaxMasters
  7. Piss off more people and get more attention this way I guess. Can't imagine any other reason for them doing it.
  8. According tithe Tennessean they were only there 10 mins. Love the pics of his grandma circulating through the crowd. Thanks to those who were there. Looks like you did a great job! http://www.tennessean.com/article/20110613/NEWS01/110613024/Westboro-Baptist-protesters-tires-slashed-leave-funeral-site-after-10-minutes-?odyssey=tab%7Ctopnews%7Ctext%7CFRONTPAGE

  10. Bersa Thunder .380. Never any problems shooting, but every 50 rounds or so something would rattle itself loose (rear sight screw and blade 3 times, grip...)
  11. Forgive me if this is a repost... Searched and couldn't find anything. Just bought a Glock 23 and was curious what hollow points y'all recommend. Lighter and faster or more lead but slower? Brands?
  12. Thanks for all the input. I ended up buying a gen 3 Glock 23 today from Goodletsville Gun Shop, and I'm taking my HCP class this weekend. After trying out a lot of guns the Glock grip felt a lot better to me. The .40 recoil is a little harsh, but the more I shoot it the more used to it I get. Seems like the perfect compromise between performance and capacity in the mag.
  13. A bulldog can whoop a skunk, but it ain't worth it. (unknown)
  14. +1 Beat me to it. I was gonna say I know why he used all caps--cant use the shift key.
  15. Looks like a great place. I'll probably take you up on your offer once my schedule calms down. Thanks

  17. I went to On Target about a month ago, and it was just almost $60 to try 2 guns (with their ammo). If I'm doing my math right, Guns & Leather is cheaper (and about the same distance from my house), so I'll probably head that way when I get some free time.
  18. Thanks for all the responses. My wife looked over my shoulder when i was watching a Hickok45 video and said "don't you already know as much as you can?" I said "no, now I have a long list to try. It'll cost $200 to rent 'em all." she said "well start this weekend!" She's a keeper!
  19. Well that explains all the ambulances and fire trucks. Had to go around the world to get home. I figured there had been a nasty wreck.
  20. Yeah, but I like the input. Thanks!
  21. Thanks for all the input. I haven't shot a lot but have never had any issues with Glocks. My brother has a 23, and I rented a 30 the other day. It did have one jam, but I blame it on the cheap ammo and the filthy gun. I definitely liked the feel of the recoil of the .45 better than the .40. I won't carry a ton because I'm a teacher, but I know I can conceal a 23 without a problem (6' 190#). I'm leaning toward buying a Glock 19, but like I said the grip isn't my favorite. Do the interchangeable backstraps on the m&p make a significant difference in the grip size? I'll definitely take a few more trips to the range and try as many as I can before I buy. I bought a Bersa .380 on a whim about 5 years ago and regretted it once I started learning more about ballistics.
  22. Love the forum and have learned a ton just reading. I've been saving a few months and am planning on buying my first handgun soon (and plan on getting my permit this summer). My main priority is a no hassle gun. I want to stay under $500 and know that Glock seems to be the undisputed reliability champ (at least gen3 anyway). Not a huge fan of the grip though. I have yet to try m&p and xd, but if I like the feel of one of those, should I have any concerns with it going bang when I need it to? Any other brands I should consider? Thanks!
  23. Thanks so much! And the gallon bag idea saved me hunting for a spring.
  24. Got a great deal on the gun ($75, mint condition) but the safety is for a lefty. Is that something I can flip myself or need to take to a gunsmith? Any resources/ recommendations are appreciated
  25. Very impressed with the forum. It's been a great resource and various threads have answered a lot of my questions. Don't have a ton of experience with guns. Own a Remington 870 and just sold a Bersa .380. Want to buy a Glock and get my carry permit soon. Look forward to learning more!
