This was one of the most depressing birthdays I have had. I was talking to some people at work today about who they are going to support now that Pawlenty has exited the race. Everyone of them said that they are now supporting Perry. Out of curiosity, I asked them what they liked about him, and how did they feel about his policies. None of them could tell me anything about him, outside of being the Governor of Texas, nor could they tell anything about his stance on key issues. The best I got was they had seen him on tv or heard some commentator talk about him.
To make matters worse, I spoke to some old friends this evening via a chatroom, and they are all on the Perry bandwagon. The way they talk about him and defend him you would think it was the advent of the Messiah. The sad thing was everything that was being discussed about Perry were not on substantive issues. When I was listening to people talk about him, the only thing that came to mind was the zombie-speak "Brrrrrrrrains."
It was really depressing to see so many people become enraptured over a candidate because he held a prayer breakfast or saw a positive review from a media personality. It seems that it is almost too much trouble for some people to think own their own and do a little bit a research on a candidate before making a decision.
Been saying that for years. People got strange priorities.

Ross Perot had some good ideas too but voters want attractive leaders, the younger looking the better.
I think Americans are having a change of priority lately.

Thanks nicemac for your input, guess I never thought of it that way. I have talked to several of my friends and peers regarding their opinion on this topic and they, for the most part, agree with what you have said. I think I am going to rethink my opinion of packing at church.
I do have question regarding schools, I have read the laws regarding carrying on school properties but there seems to be an exemption to the law if you are just droping off your kids or picking them up in let's say the carpool lane or what ever. Am I correctly reading the law by interpretating it to say if my gun is in my truck when I am dropping them off at the door in the morning there is no violation?
I'd say do what you're comfortable with. Sounds like your safety is pretty well covered at church.

Once the suspect was in his car fleeing would the homeowner have been in the right to use deadly force ? I would think not.
The politicians don't think so. I have no problem with shooting until the perp is dead or you're out of ammo. I'm all for saving tax dollars.

We live in a different time than every before. As the world shrinks, we can't hide on the other side of the world and ignore everyone else. Our economies, security, ...... are all linked too closely.
So what happens when China gets nukes. We all know they will. Just a matter of when. if they don't already.
Just because Wallyworld shelves are full of their junk doesn't mean they are our allies. I can assure you they are not. Especially when they come to collect on our bonds.

I see what you are saying but I am never playing that game again. I am voting for whoever is in the most agreement with my views.
If he or she can't win the general election then so be it, but no more selling out. Selling out is how we end up in this boat.

I lived in Corrupticut for 6 years.It's close enough to Taxachussetts they we cought wind of all the shinnannigans going on up there. Romney is NOT what this country needs. I can promise you that. Do some research on the man instead of letting the "fair and balanced " news tell you what he's about.
As for Box News, 'ol Rupert Murdock is a member of the Bilderberger group. His attendance has been documented.

I'm actually starting to think Obama's Commie ass should get another term! I don't think folks are awake enough to realize what is really at stake here. Another term MIGHT just get them angry enough to get up and finally get pissed off enough to get involved and take this country back! This back and forth crap between the Dems and Repubs (lesser of two evils excuse) has gotten this country in enough trouble. Something sooner or later has got to get people off the couch and away from the idiot box!
I saw someone's signature on another forum and it said " If the founding father's were still alive,the shooting would have already begun!" I like the sound of it.
I'm just trying to figure out when the American Sheeple are going to get tired of this game? The polls show Ron Paul in the lead or right below it and the media is already attacking him. WTF are they scared of? REAL CHANGE for once?

I like the Patriot Channel on there, too. Whenever I get in my wife's car, that's where it goes.
I've felt that way about Romney all along although I would vote for him against Obama or
even Hillary. I definitely would take anyone else at that debate over Romney, otherwise.
I can't wait for the crowd to thin out, way too congested right now, but that's the process.
I would vote for Obama before Romney. At least i know Obama will not screw me behind my back.

I hate to tell you this fellow’s but your showing a touch of ignorance and bias against LEA and LEO in general here. Many agencies auction vehicles, electronics, jewelry and other evidence or surplus equipment on line. It’s easier and doesn’t require a once or twice yearly auction which is an enormous expense in manpower hours. Firearms are far simpler to dispose of by trading them to a LE Supplier for ammunition or to help pay for replacement weapons or equipment. These weapons in turn are sold to distributors, then gun shops and their customers.
Some gun’s get torched and turned into manhole covers. Either they’re junk, broken, have missing or altered serial numbers or are otherwise illegal. If you think a LEO is immune to prosecution for being in possession, with intent, of a stolen or otherwise illegal firearm then your deluded. LEA are subject to evidence inventories quite often, if they are an accredited agency then policies are pretty darn specific on what can and can’t be done. In the end the general public does get to buy a lot of seized guns once they are cleared to do so by the respective judges, they just get them from a licensed dealer.
In the past month I have learned all about LE and how the laws don't apply to them.They have pretty much lost what little respect I had left for them.
