I’m not real familiar with Clarksville, thus the question. What was in this area 50 years ago?

North Clarksville would have been lightly populated more rural,  lots of farms.
When I arrived the main road near me was 2 lane blacktop no stop lights and several farms.  Austin Peay the IV was still farming land around me. Now of course the last farm was just plowed up to be a subdivision.  I arrived 25 years ago. Camping in Joelton when that line of tornadoes passed over and took out down town Clarksville I think that was 99.

  2. They been zipping through north Clarksville more often the last couple years including one today supposed to have gone by outlaw field and crossed I 24.

A second one hit near sango school road a while ago.

I don’t know if there was any significant damage. Or if the tracking was accurate.

There weren't near as many bad drivers here until the residents of every flippin state in the Union decided to move to Tennessee. Some of them I welcome and most of them I wish would go back to where they came from.

People used to get under my skin when they talked about how Tennesseans were back woods rednecks. Now I just add that living amongst the mosquitoes, ticket, chiggers, poison ivy, rattlesnakes, copperheads, and alligators makes us that way because they are literally everywhere.

Naw, I always thought Memphis drivers were some of the worst and I formed that opinion decades ago.

We have had drivers in my area move barriers and drive through high water and then having their cars ingest water into their engines. Then their engines seize. The driver then learns the rules of hydrodynamics and how water and most fluids don't compress ending up in broken and bent connecting rods. Then we have had drivers drive up to barriers and then they drive through people's yards to go around the barriers and high water. This ends up destroying people's yards. The selfishness and stupidity has never reached a high like it has during this flood. I have seen a lot during my years and this tops how rude , inconsiderate , selfish , and dangerous people have become. Sadly this is a whole new generation and it is sad. I just had to vent. Their is nothing important or urgent enough to drive through high water risking your life and then getting screwed up causing Emregency personnel to risk their lives to rescue you when you should have just not gone through the water to begin with !

Sadly the stupidity and ignorance is on daily display on the roads around Clarksville. There is zero consideration for other drivers, personal property or pedestrians. Tiny town is like a madd max race, no one drives the speed limit or obeys basic traffic rules.
Whenever there is a flood it’s not a matter of if rescues will be needed, you know there will be always be those people that disregard barricades and attempt to drive through high water.

  5. Haven’t got one yet. Not too concerned about it. I have a current passport, tsa precheck and a military id.
If you don’t get one by the deadline absolutely nothing will happen.
Probably get one when I have to renew my DL.

I like it. I don't have any with lock backs, please let us know how you like it. I found small and large replacement Victorinox toothpicks on Amazon for around $6 for a half dozen. I bought a pack of mini fire starters by FireFy that replace the toothpick, so I went that route instead. They work surprisingly well for their size.

I didn’t know about those little fire starters! Now of course I have to buy some.
I only have a couple SAK knives left. I can’t tell how many have just up and disappeared into thin air over the years. Those tiny key chained sized seem to vanish the fastest. I have also given quite a few away as gifts.
I only ever had one Alox and I have no idea where it went.

You know maybe they need air tags 🙂

The one in the picture from my spares drawer.

  7. My first handgun in the early seventies was a S&W Model 64. I owned several other Smiths over the years and a few Ruger revolvers. I only have a couple left now and rarely carry them but still enjoy shooting them.
I mostly carry  9s now. But as I age that may change.

A drone at 200 feet is going to be quite a challenge for any kind of shotgun.

A very difficult task with even with full auto crew served weapons and even harder with hand held M16s. If the drone is taking any evasive maneuvers at all it’s close to impossible.
I have attempted it on military ranges at Ft. Bliss,TX.  Way back in the mid 1980s it was a humbling experience.

Now of course a military drone is different you could probably shoot down your average selfie drone with a daisy red rider!

Personally, I think Mora knives are the best bang for your buck in all the knife world. I think I have 5 or 6 of them.

Yes I have a few as well, put them in emergency packs or bags and vehicles.

Plain old mil-spec Kabar has always worked for me. 😉

Yup I have the issued military survival knife made by Ontario. I like the Kabar as well.
And my old buck special is pretty darn good too.
Also like the mora knives military or outdoor grade.

  11. I get the same feelings when I walk through the war memorials on Tennessee avenue at Fort Campbell.  Especially when I see the notes, medals and tokens left for fallen soldiers.
I can’t adequately express the great respect I have for them and sacrifices they have made.

  12. I am interested I have some K-31s to choose from I willing to trade. I can send you pictures. I sent you a pm.
The one in these pictures is a 1946 all matching walnut stock. I am not good at posting pictures here but if you message me an email or cellphone I can send more pictures. I also have a 1952 k-31 with slightly lighter stock that I think is beech wood.

I checked my Monarch and it's all headstamped MON which I think is the rebadged Magtech

I haven’t bought monarch in a while. But if it’s made by magtech that explains a lot. I have had squib loads with magtech and I decided not to buy it again.

  14. Didn’t find anything about recalls on monarch on the academy websites.
But on different forums you see similar posts some going back a few years its odd.
