  1. We don’t have a justice system anymore. We haven’t for a long time. We have a legal system. And those are two VERY different things.

The whole system is setup so that cops who do their job, arrest the criminals, go to court, get slapped on the wrist, do a little jail time, but released early on probation and pay probation fees and court costs. It’s all about the money and keeping the court and legal system in business.

I saw one report where the TBI believes he was just traveling through TN and this happened. Still hits close to home.

We need more life imprisonments and death penalties served. Modern technology will prevent innocents from being incarcerated.

God help us if that is anyone's Christmas present.

I've been watching "The Man in the High Castle" on Amazon which is sorta WWII based. Decided to look up Hiroshima and Nagasaki on youtube and now my suggested videos have gone nuclear 😱

There are certain things I would like to know, but I don’t want attached to my search history or recommended/suggested, so I just don’t  look it up.

  3. I do believe a situation similar to what you describe will play out.

    The old addage of

    Hard times create hard men,

    Hard men create good times,

    Good times create soft men,

    Soft men create hard times.

is coming to fruition now. We have had good times for far too long in this cycle.

I am woefully unprepared for this scenario if it manages to migrate itself into rural areas.

I live out in the country but commute to LaVergne for work. Even if Nashville turned into the lawlessness that is Portland/Seattle, I don’t worry at home. It’s when I get closer to the population centers near my work, I become concerned.

Everything is dependent on what happens in November. If anything but a clear win for Trump happens, I believe it will be like nothing we have ever seen before. Remember the issues at the Bush/Gore election from Florida ballots, it won’t blow over like that.

I have food and water and the ability to keep it available via a garden, hunting, fishing. Shelter and security is also accounted for.

I would like more guns and ammo (obviously) especially more combat oriented guns and gear. Just in case.

Although I do carry whenever possible, inside Coffee County, I honestly don’t ever feel like I need it. Rutherford County is a whole ‘nother story, too many people in too small a space.

Unfortunately, I’m not in a financial position to go out and buy a bunch of emergency supplies or combat arms. But I have ways to keep carrying on my day to day, so long as it doesn’t get to the point I need an AR just to safely go to the grocery store.

  4. I found that Sierra makes a 197 gr bullet.

I can’t imagine that would be too far off from the 300 BLK subsonic load with a 208 AMAX. Bet it performs much the same.

Ill admit I’d never heard of the TCU family of cartridges, I find them interesting...

  5. Granted I don’t get out much “socially” as most do (social distancing hasn’t changed anything for me except wearing a mask at the grocery store).

But, living roughly halfway between Manchester and McMinnville out in the country, I haven’t seen any evidence of it personally, I bet I will whenever Bonnaroo got rescheduled to this year or next. Only hear about it on the news. I work in La Vergne, just south of Nashville and haven’t seen anything up there either. I think I saw on the news when the riots first kicked off there was a small spat in Murfreesboro, but nothing since.

As much as I probably should watch the news to stay informed, watching any form of the news now just infuriates me beyond comprehension and makes my blood boil, so I don’t watch. I catch a general idea hearing little snippets here and there.

Do the Kriss extensions work well, or are they problematic?

From everything I’ve read, they work well. But aren’t cheap. Haven’t used them though. Arredondo base plates are good quality as well

I can’t see a use for something that big aside from a carbine that takes Glock mags. I’m not real big on pistol caliber carbines in general, but when talking about one, there’s usually a better magazine to base a carbine around than Glock mags.

  7. Haven’t seen those but aftermarket companies have a pretty poor reputation for quality for Glock mags in general.

Notable exception being the Shield Arms G43X/48 15 round steel mags. So far...

The Kriss Mag extensions for 30 round capacity in 45 have been available for awhile.

I wouldn’t trust these or any other aftermarket Glock mags. Extensions or base plates, sure, but no full aftermarket mags unless they have earned a reputation and proven themselves reliable.

Today, the 30-30 has gained the reputation as a slow, incapable, and outdated cartridge. Truth is that it is just as accurate and deadly as it was 125 years ago. I do not believe North America has produced a creature that can’t be reliably taken with the old 170 grain Silvertip load.

What actually happened is that we have largely become slow, incapable hunters expecting our gear to make up for our shortcomings.

My opinion is that the .30-30 is for hunters. High velocity magnums are for “shooters”.

Those with experience know, the .30-30 performs better than it should judging off of ballistic numbers.
