  1. Well I have a few guns on the old want list. First would be a .44 mag automag. Those are just awesome looking guns. Never handled one in .44 but a guy was using a .22 automag at the range not long ago and he let me put a few rounds through it. The other would be a fullsize Desert Eagle in .50 A&E. Just because I have always wanted one. The final gun would be the S&W X frame .500 Mag. Either barrel length would be fine. Oh and I want them all for the price of a soda. lol Keep dreaming and drinkin kool-aid.
  2. I have to say I carry a XD40 and It is the best shooting gun I have ever owned. Glocks have a slimmer profile than the XD line, but for me they are just not as comfortable, I also like the fact that it has the loaded chamber indicator, so when I take the wife to the range I have that extra margin of safety. Both quality guns however, just gotta find what is comfy for you.
  3. Terry is an awesome guy. He has an old muzzle loader of mine right now working on it. There is also P&T shooting range here in Manchester, can't remember the owners name always just called him Pops. He is a friends step-grandfather lol. Then about 25 min or so down the interstate you have a nice indoor range in Murfreesboro that I have been to once or twice. Just remember if you go on a Sunday that you can not shoot shotguns. Against the law in city limits on Sundays. I live in Manchester. Gimme a shout if you have any questions.
  4. Gsbell thanks for pointing me in that direction, but looks like im still stuck waiting lol. My wife is off every other weekend(someone has to be with our son) and the only one I could afford to go to that would be running a shoot is the Gallatin Gun Club, and they are doing three gun that weekend. lol Story of my life.
  5. thanks guys I really appreciate the info. Guess my first till will have to be next month, kinda short of funds to go this weekend lol. I am excited to be giving it a go however.
  6. I have been looking around for some kind of pistol shooting comps to try out, and since I live in manchester I figured I would give the IDPA shooting a go. Anyone know the dates of their upcoming shoots or got any tips for someone just starting out in IDPA? Ill be using my 4in. Springfield XD .40 with Blackhawk CQC SPERA holster. Any tips, info or advice is appreciated.
  7. One of the things that would be a positive to a lack of penetration vs a .45LC is the fact that I would not have to worry about hitting my kids in the next room if something were to happen and I had to use it.
  8. I have to say I am excited to be taking my wife to the range next weekend. She is willing to try my EAA Bountyhunter in .44 mag, and my XD .40. She has never handled a handgun before. So I think starting her out with a decent caliber will be good. I will be taking video of her shooting both guns.
  9. makes me wanna donate a bigger shotgun with more ammo, to her home defense plan.
  10. I lets your imagination run a little wild on what you would do and how you survive. I think it is a good healthy way to ensure that as adults you keep thinking outside the box.
  11. Well I found this site because I was googling gun shops in middle TN. I am gonna be making a purchase for my first carry gun in a few weeks and decided to look around online and see what I could find and stumbled across this site in the process. I dont get to shoot as much as I would like to but you know how that goes. I am in manchester if anyone has something they are looking to get rid of in the next few weeks just let me know. I shoot a little of everything. I own an Enfield, a blackpowder caplock repro, an old savage .22 and a couple of other handguns. I was in the marine corps. well thats all I can think of atm. thanks for stopping by. JP
