  1. Who would have thought mmm?

"Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has emerged as a key player if Senate Democrats are to have any chance of passing legislation to expand background checks for private sales of firearms.

McCain and Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Dean Heller (R-Nev.) are at the top of a list of Republicans considered most likely to sign on to legislation expanding background checks after talks with Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) stalled earlier this month."

    ...

"Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has announced he will include background-checks legislation in a gun-violence package scheduled for the Senate floor in April, even though it’s uncertain whether it could gather the 60 votes needed to overcome a filibuster."

  3. My opinion... mt. juliet, hendersonville, nolensville & lavergne on that side are becoming more densely populated in the last 10 years more than anywhere else besides coolsprings/brentwood/franklin. It's creepin to gallatin, smyrna, lebanon as old farmland owners r dying & families are selling to these beazer, foxboro & the like big developers. Next 5-15 the whole corridor of 840 from lebanon to franklin will explode including retail. That could mean a good flip if you want but expect delays. Watertown is about the only pocket over yonder that might qualify for time frame but that's likely to become a longer commute w/congestion in 5yrs. You could look north from coopertown to whitehouse you're lookin at 35-40 min to BNA

  4. Soooooo...What's wrong with Davidson County? I left Nashville in 1982 and haven't been back, but as I remember, it was a good place to live..... If you like cities.
    Crime and taxes, for starters.

I've been here in davidson off & on since the 80s. Its a hot mess clusterpuck of commie liberal infestation flocking to jobsites within 15 min of 37219. With healthcare, education & half dozen smaller industries the northern/western bluebots have commandeered metro including schools. Affluent families continues to emmigrate to outlying area as the liberal mayor/council rack up nearly 1.9billion in bond parity debt, so moodys just downgraded us, with all their beautification projects to lure hipsters. I'm itching to get out further.
Remember if its too flat it might flood. 'Sides which if u get a good holler you've got an embankment to shoot into.

  5. i've seen some interesting "solar power charger hacks" a.k.a. do it yourself jobs out there...

    for instance http://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-iPhone-Chargers/

I saw a real neat one, maybe it was a youtube vid?, where guy strung together a couple of the solar panels from the led garden lights to charge a phone. he soldered 2 little panels? onto the back of the case & could just leave it sittin in the sun to recharge sans extra cordage etc. which would work well on the back of a 7-10" tablet

  6. Brilliancy in action..

    http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/03/21/Oops-Gov-Cuomo-To-Rescind-Magazine-Ban-Because-It-Is-Undoable

"New York's Democrat Gov. Andrew Cuomo is rescinding his ban on 10-round magazines after realizing that most gun manufacturers don't make magazines smaller than 10 rounds.

His original restrictions were that no magazines holding more than seven rounds could be sold within the state, but he realized after-the-fact that such a rule turns into a de factoban on almost every magazine manufactured."

    http://www.uticaod.com/latestnews/x2082715980/NY-to-reverse-ban-on-magazine-size-in-gun-law

"There is no such thing as a seven-bullet magazine. That doesn't exist, so you really have no practical option," Cuomo said."

"New Yorkers will still be required to keep no more than seven bullets in them, except at shooting ranges and competitions."

Seriously, why even make laws this stupid. Oh yeah, emotion.

  7. "University of Central Florida Narrowly Avoids Tragedy Monday"

"The University of Central Florida student who planned to massacre his fellow students had ordered more than $700 worth of weapons online, including two packages of ammunition, gun shooting DVDs, and accessories for his weapons that arrived on campus after the attack had already been thwarted.

The packages contained even more ammunition for the attack that former UCF student James Oliver Seevakumaran, 30, planned to carry out Monday morning shortly after midnight. He already had a handgun, assault rifle, high capacity magazines, and four homemade bombs he hoped to use on fellow students after pulling the fire alarm and forcing them into the crowded hallways, according to police."

Yeah don't think the libs are done yet. We have another day without one of these Actually occurring. As soon as the next one does though...................

  8. We are one mass shooting away from going through this all over again.  Sooner or later, it will happen.  We live in a country with more than 300 million people.  I pray to God it doesn't, but there is evil out there.  Lanza is proof of that, and there are more like him.

uhm almost happened yesterday at university of central florida... http://abcnews.go.com/US/ucf-gunmans-list-ended-give-em-helle/story?id=18762704

  10. Interesting read: http://www.wnd.com/2013/03/now-big-brother-targets-your-fedex-ups-packages/

"FedEx and UPS are in the Justice Department’s cross-hairs for not flagging shipments of illegally prescribed drugs the companies say they had no way of knowing were in their possession."

“At the heart of the investigation are sealed packages that are being sent by, as far as we can tell, licensed pharmacies. These are medicines with legal prescriptions written by licensed physicians. So it’s difficult for us to understand where we would have some role in this. We are a transportation company that picks up and delivers close to 10 million packages every day. They are sealed packages, so we have no way of knowing specifically what’s inside and we have no interest in violating the privacy rights of our customers,” Fitzgerald said.

“They clearly are attempting to put some responsibility for the legality of the contents of these packages. That’s why for us it goes far beyond even just the online pharmacy situation. This really has a chilling effect. It has the potential to threaten the privacy of all customers that send or receive packages via FedEx because the government is assigning a role on us as law enforcement or taking on their role in a way that is not appropriate,” Fitzgerald said.

Anyone else see where the extension of this behavior would lead? Since we've seen TSA attempt to encroach into other areas... subways, trains, etc.. and we had the massive government stop n search on I40?24? last year with the feds snooping in all the semis... How long before the thought police( http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/9939666/British-press-laws-are-just-crazy-say-shocked-Americans.html ) are here and need to have manifests of our interstate commerce packages to prove we're not engaged in illegal activity including terrorism, drug peddling, support of the 2nd amendment & other fringe extremist ideologies of sovereign liberty, as well as generally other disruptive material as it affects the well being of the children.
