  1. I'm not picking on you here but I am using this quote as an example of a trap that I think we allow ourselves to fall into too frequently.

Criminals travel to work just the same as you and I travel to work. We absolutely MUST get past the false sense of security that we assign to certain areas just because those areas are predominantly upper class, or predominantly crime free, or predominantly white, or black, or red, or whatever. If you are outside the four walls of your own home, you cannot guarantee what sort of element you are going to interact with. PERIOD.

In my past, I have been very guilty of choosing when I would or would not go armed based on what sort of situation I thought I might encounter at whatever place I was going. This sort of thinking will get you hurt or killed.

If we all knew when and where we would need our sidearms for self defense, wouldn't we all just avoid being there in the first place???

The fact is you never know. Ever. The wolf prowls seeking those whom he might devour. You do not ever know when or where the wolf will surface. It's your duty to be vigilant and to be armed to protect yourself and those you love.

    /end rant

    +1

I would have had 2 shots each and 2 left over.

  2. This entire situation pisses me off...

"His office was told Monday that doctors were waiting for the man's swelling to subside before checking for permanent injuries, which could justify more serious charges."

"Eight young men are accused of taking turns stomping on and kicking the head..."

...the way I look at it if you are "stomping" a mans head when he is down on the ground, you are trying to kill him!

I think attempted murder charges should have been filed from the start.

I haven't looked at the mug shots of these guys yet, but I think I know what I'll see.

  3. I guess I got mine about 2 years ago and I've shot it a lot... probably close to 10,000 rounds... ammos cheap and its just so fun to shoot. I've not had anything break on it yet.

Yeah 300-500 rounds and she's ready for a cleaning :tinfoil:

  4. I heard today... I am not sure if it is true... that Knox co. has more HCP holders than any other co. in the state.

Well, its been over 27 hours since you posted this and I didn't see where any one else got a letter...

Maybe it's just his way of saying "sorry" and "I support you":D

Or maybe it's just his way of saying "I still remember you" and "I still know where you live":tinfoil:

  5. as has been debated numerous times...

    epa

    domestic drilling

    gas blends

    weak dollar

speculation is simply one factor in the market. it can help drive up as well as drive down. fixing a minor market factor will ultimatley do nothing. increasing domestic supply.while easing restrictions would cause these same speculators to drive dwn prices. what the dems want to do is shift blame from things they can control to things.they cant drectly contrl. now if you take it speculatio and increase domestic supply prices would take real time to come come down. then the dems could argue thy were righ all along.

All Ahmadinejad has to do is turn his head to the west when he sneezes and you will see the prices jump up by the next day... he has nothing to do with the epa, domestic drilling, blends, or weak dollar.

All I know is that gas has gone up $1 since the first of the year, only the future will really tell what is driving all this.

  6. I joined ORSA a few years ago and had a chance to talk to Mike at the range a while back... great guy, let me shoot his Kimber .22 conv... I want to shoot a IDPA there, but its just hard for me to get there when thay have it.

  7. Try different kinds of ammo. For plinking the Federal 550 box from walmart works the best for mine with the least malfunctions...1 in about every 100 rounds. The Remington goes about 1 in every 20.

Mine will shoot Stingers and CCI mini-mags with no malfunctions. They are just too expensive for a plinker.

Its gonna jam so just get used to it... its a good practice gun for clearing jams.:D
