1. We will be moving to Erwin (in the East) a little far from Nashville - closest City would be Johnson City/Kingsport

Thanks for the reply tho :)

Rene is really easy going, and informative. She can do a class just for you, or she has discounted group rates. The Unicoi County Sheriff's office used to do a class once a month. I don't know if they still do or not. 423-743-1850 is their non emergency number if you want to check. Welcome to Erwin, you'll love it here.
2. I asked the officer what he was on probation for and he was not able to tell me. He did say that he might get some jail time for the violation but said he couldn't guarantee that either. I know either way he is not going to be happy with me and I surely hope he is not stupid enough to try and get even because I got him busted. I hate looking over my shoulder every time I go out but should he be so stupid and come after me he better be sure that he is successful the first time because if he fails he will never be able to try twice........jmho

Arrive to court early and note what he drives. Study his face and mannerisms and commit them to memory. Become extra vigilant in your daily activities. You never have to look over your shoulder if you have good situational awareness. You will see it coming.

3. I always "over carry" for the woods in east TN. Either a Ruger SBH in .44mag, or a RH in the same. I had a gen 3 20, and sold it because I wanted a 29 instead. I never felt underpowered with the 20, and neither will you with the 29. The great thing about the 29 is it's an excellent hybrid. It has enough firepower and capacity for not only critter engagement of the four legged variety, but also two legged as well. Salmon fishing in Alaska may be another story, but hiking in TN you'll definitely have more than enough firepower.

4. Of all that said above there is one thing that is NOT done by 99. 99/100 of people and will give you a fighting chance if you are at a red light. "DO NOT" pull on top of the car in front you, get in a habit of staying far enough to allow a quick move left or right to get away. Most 99/100 pull up within a couple feet to the car in front of them and then the car in back does the same...leaving you blocked in. A great bit of advise from Mossad Ayob. The man seems to have an insight of bad guys and how they think and act. To be honest I never pull on top of a car stopped....dont know why just dont.

^ Absolutely, "Leave one car length of space" between yourself and the person in front of you is one of UPS's mandatory safety precautions. UPS actually calls it "Leave yourself an out."
5. I did have a problem recently with the mag dropping just enough to cause a jam after each shot. I called Keltec, and they sent me a new mag release (no charge). That solved the issue, and it's flawless again.

I replaced the magazine release twice in mine. Both were metal. CS was awesome, but in the end I didn't buy a single shot 9mm. IMHO, get a S&W Shield 9. Leagues above the P-F9. I understand they're not in the same price bracket, but you're buying a CCW not a range toy.
6. I recommend you buy him a new carry piece.

^This. You can tell him how crappy of a SD piece that H&R is all day long, but show him by buying him a new gun. If you give him a new gun it will show how serious you are about this. It will also mean something to him that his son gave it to him. Like a father passing down a knife/gun to his son. I haven't found anyone young or old that doesn't like the feel of an airweight S&W.
7. Google "Glock Torture Test" There are plenty of videos, pics, and articles that prove frame breakage is a non issue. I'm not saying it won't happen, but if it does you'll probably have a hell of a story. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
8. Wait until S&W releases a Shield in .45 The market will be filled with used/trade in XDs, lol. Personally if I were looking for a "woods" .45 it'd be a 1911. A Ruger Alaskan in 2" may be just the ticket for you if you're already used to carrying revolvers in the woods. I have always carried one of my Ruger .44s when hunting, hiking. The extra weight is worth it to me vs. me becoming dead weight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
9. I have a 638 air weight, and a Shield in 9mm. You're welcome to shoot one or both if you want to try before you buy. Just let me know and I'll drop them by. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
