  1. I saw and heard a lot of this crap at the last gun show I went to in Franklin. The object is to scare folks in order to get $$$ in pocket . . . As usual, TDR, I totally agree with you.
  2. Okay, you are asking who in the Hell is "Larry?" Larry gets home late one night and, Linda, his wife says, '"Where in the hell have you been?" Larry replies, '"I was out getting a tattoo." 'A tattoo? ' she frowned. ' What kind of tattoo did you get? ' 'I got a hundred dollar bill on my privates, ' he said proudly. 'What the hell were you thinking?!' She said, shaking her head in disgust. 'Why on earth would an accountant get a hundred dollar bill tattooed on his privates?' "Well, one, I like to watch my money grow." Two, once in a while I like to play with my money. Three, I like how money feels in my hand. And, astly, instead of you going out shopping, you can stay right here at home and blow a hundred bucks anytime you want. Larry is recovering in room 232 at the hospital . . .
  3. The insecurity in this post is so interesting . . .
  4. Glockguy: EXCELLENT POINT! Whether or not anyone likes Kent Williams, the major question about him is this: WILL HE ALLOW BILLS TO LEAVE COMMITTEE AND GET VOTED ON? This is what Naifeh would NOT do . . . My opinion of Kent Williams is on this point alone: if he does not allow votes on issues, he is Naifeh Jr. Time will tell . . .
  5. Hey Guys, if your "manhood" is so tied up in what you wear, as a licensed mental health therapist, I'll be happy to provide free therapy to increase your self esteem. In warm weather, I carry a small bag that may look "gay" to you, but laugh at me out in public, and you can kiss the barrel of my S&W 686 . . . It is not what we wear on the outside that matters . . . it IS what we know about ourselves on the inside. Go ahead now and chew me up:drama:
  6. I did my HCP training with Buford . . . massive mistake. WAAAAY too much time spent on his ego, stories, and jumping down the throats of anyone who disagreed with him. A few walked out, and he told them that was fine with him; they could get their money back. When my wife got her HCP training, we went to Guns & Leather - no brag, just fact and support. Buford is a nice guy in many ways, but for today, a neanderthal . . .
  7. I'd take it to a gunsmith because he will know where to get the correct screw and on that point alone save you a lot of time.
  8. Very, very well said, sir . . .

To this day, I am so sorry that Michael Waltrip won under those conditions . .. Dale blocked for him to get the win, and it cost him his life . . .

I am so sick of "Boogitty, boogitty, boogitty" . . .
  11. I have a good possible deal on a S&W Model 25, 3" in .45 ACP. I really like this gun, and want it because it is .45. Currently I carry a Model 686 2.5", which is an L frame; I am medium build and this revolver is not too heavy or difficult for me to conceal. The Model 25 is an N frame, which is a bit larger than the L frame. Opinions, please, from all of you whom I respect so much: is an N frame Smith too large for concealed carry?
  12. One of the most treasured firearms I own is a .22 Browning Challenger pistol that was my dad's. I remember my mom and I picking it out for him in the late '60s at a Chattanooga gun store called "Guns Galore." I LOVE shooting this pistol, but am having NO luck finding extra magazines for it. Even all the established places that have odd magazines have been of no help. Do any of you have any suggestions where else I may look for a Browning Challenger magazine? Thank you for your feedback!
  13. BTW . . . I was just having a spot of fun saying this guy must have been shooting a Glock, since all you "Glockies" take punishment out there . . . Doesn't matter what you are shooting when you are just plain STUPID!
  14. Such is NC . . . I lived there for over 25 years . . . nothing changed . . .
  15. For me, Jeff cut down the barrel of a pump shotgun to become a home defense weapon, fixed a Franchi for me to sell, looked at an old double barrel and offered great advice, did a trigger job on my wife's SP 101, fixed my 686, and overall, is a damn nice guy. We in Mid TN are LUCKY to have him near. He is the best - and NICEST - gunsmith I have ever dealt with. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Jeff Walle at Guns and Leather cut down a shotgun for me; he left a little more than 18" to cover my a** I'd tell you to go to a gunsmith.
  17. Man accidentally shoots himself at hospital cafe Feb 10, 8:00 PM (ET) LAFAYETTE, Colo. (AP) - A man who reached into his pocket to pay for lunch at a hospital cafeteria in Lafayette accidentally shot himself with the gun in his pocket. Police and officials at Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center said it was an unfortunate accident. Officials said 59-year-old Steve Tapp of Thornton was treated at the hospital and released. No one else was hurt. Officials said Tapp, who was visiting family at the hospital, shot himself in the right thigh Tuesday. Security responded and took the gun. Tapp faces possible misdemeanor charges of unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon, prohibited use of a weapon and reckless endangerment. The hospital forbids guns, although no sign was posted Tuesday stating the policy.
  18. I already commented once, but will say one more thing . . . In 1980 I was in a critical situation in which my Browning 9mm failed me. Luckily I was able to remedy the situation before three guys in a truck with 2 .45s and a pump shotgun literally killed me. I was able to get them off my back, but the situation would NOT been in doubt if I was not trying to clear jams (stovepipes) and could just shoot. Since that time, I carry a revolver . . . main carry is a 7 round 686. Autos are great . . . until your life depends on them . . .
  19. As usual TDR, your comments say it all . . . Well done, my friend! I need to buy you lunch sometime!
  20. For me the big ? is whether he will let bills come to the floor for a vote as opposed to Naifeh who would block floor votes.
  21. As a licensed mental health therapist who knows developmental psychology, my words of wisdom are easy: JUST ENJOY YOUR LITTLE DOLL!
  22. Well needless to say there would not have been a shortage and gas would not have shot up to $5 a gallon if there wasn't a rush. I doubt the issue with the supplier would have impacted us anywhere near that bad. Well said, bkelm
