  1. I think that may be correct, or very close to it. Before I got my HCP, I had to pick up a Ruger .357 Blackhawk from the local Sheriff's Office after it was stolen from me. When the officer handed me the gun I began to wrap it in a towel. He quickly stopped me. He informed me that I could not wrap the gun in a towel because it would then be concealed. The same officer told me that I could walk the streets with it on my head or a necklace for all he cared, but I could not walk in public with it concealed in a towel. If what this officer told me is in fact the truth, carrying a gun in public - without an HCP - is not against the law.
  2. I don't always agree with Bill Maher, but I'm a huge fan of his delivery.
  3. Yes, we'd love to have you along for the ride. Some forcasters are saying 20% and some are saying 30% chance of rain on Saturday. I don't generally start worring about rain until it hits at least 50% or so. Heck, they are calling for 50% at 7am and Noon today, and I've yet to see a single rain drop as of yet.
  4. If I were using a shotgun, I'd probably use #6 shot. Just about any shot will do. Personally, I'd probably use a .22. That would be plenty effective. Shoot the skunk right in front of the hind legs or in the head, and make sure (if possible) the skunk is downwind.
  5. Well, surgery looks to be the only option. They prescribed steroid/antibiotic eye drops to administer for the next week to ten days. This should decrese the inflammation and have him more prepared for surgery. For those who don't already know, rescuing an animal can become very costly.
  6. Welcome to TGO! Thank You For Your Service! Enjoy your stay!
  7. Man, I wanted an English Bulldog so bad, but they were a little out of my price range at the time, and our Basset was in desperate need of a good home. How old is he?
  8. Yea, he doesn't seem to be too bothered by it. Well, that's until he wakes up and the discharge has "glued" his eye shut.
  9. Well, the Vet's office opens in about 30 minutes. Hopefully I'll be able to get some kind of information over the phone.
  10. Do you recall the cost of the surgery? Was the surgery done on one or both eyes?
  11. Anyone had this problem with their dogs? We woke this morning to find that Grizwald, our Basset puppy (15 weeks old) has "Cheery Eye" in both eyes. Other than some discharge draining from the worst of the two eyes, he doesn't appear to be all that bothered by it. Me, on the other hand, I think I could almost cry for him. He has the typical droopy eyes common with the breed, but this makes him look extra pitiful. After doing a little research on the Internet, I found that some folks were able to "massage" the protruding glands back into place. I tried this and was successful a couple of times, but the glands pop right back out a short time later. I read a few options, but it seems that surgery is the likely option for the long-term.
  12. Everyone else is too embarrassed to admit they're from the armpit of Sumner County.

  18. Look at the UAG Magnifier. I think most folks get them from eBay for just a shade over $100. If I'm not mistaken, they have a 3X and 5X. These are Chinese made, but I've heard and read several good reviews.
  19. There is about 20 listed at Guns America. Not sure how much help that would be, but it's the best I can do.
  20. If it happens to you, you could stand to receive enough money to add a few firearms to your collection.

  23. Ah, my daughter's favorite. The freezer is a good idea. We'll try that. She's not going to be happy when she wakes in the morning to see that I was eating her Pop-Tarts.
