What would happen if china suddenly cashed in their us bonds? The US dollar would virtually be worthless, would military, police and just the regular working man continue to labor for a worthless wage? How about the man that works at the local power plant? Do you reckon he will work for free? What would the medium of exchange be? Food, water, gold, ammo, drugs , alcohol, etc. I believe the gold exchange rage over the past few years has been a campaign to remove all real gold from the poor working man thus removing another medium of exchange from society. How many people even can grow a garden these days? I 100% agree the storm is coming soon. It will make April 27th 2011 storms feel like a mountain shower.

I have an acquaintance who drives a truck. He says his company is delivering 2,000+ of Humvee type vehicles with heavy armor to homeland security equipped with water cannons instead of 50 calibers. Why would homeland want that, hmmmmm.

I watched a few, Midway is still my favorite. I have all the classics on DVD, but when flipping channels, if I find one, I will watch it! GREAT STUFF!

I am not worried about big brother monitoring me when I am off of my property, and the speeding cameras I am not worried about. They just started the speeding camera thing in Madisonville a few months ago. Since I hit 40 some 4 1/2 years ago, my problem is not speeding, but rather keeping up with the speed limit. When driving and drifting into thought, my wife will jolt me that I am driving too slow again! 20 years ago, yes speeding cameras would have been my enemy, but today, I really do not care, if it helps LEO depts, and curb speeders, then yes they are okay. As far as big brother monitoring my movements and frequencies of movements in public, they can ride along with me if they would like.

What type of purchasing, I have been in purchasing close to 20 years now. Placing ordres, negotiating, chasing requisitions, fixing receivables, direct material type, what type of industry, and etc?

I am highly confident if consumers just avoid the retailers that charge the fee, in a free market society, will bring those businesses to their knees to change their business model. The consumer has all of the leverage, we just need to exercise it to impose market conditions. We truly have choices.

My real complaint is why is the gun retail industry appears to be the only industry doing this? I really do not see the 3% cash discount anywhere else. As a consumer, I have a choice and I do go out of my way to avoid retailers that charge the extra fee even if I pay cash. Its just the principal. Small retail business is in the business of retail. Bury the cc fee into the cost of goods sold category and move on. Don't single me out becuase I choose a safe way to pay for something. Consumers have the purchasing power, its just a matter if we exercise it or not.

I too miss the old version. I now have to remember to look at the classifieds. I much prefer just looking at the new content which use to include any new classifieds. I guess I am just lazy, but I like convinence. I think the old version was just more convinent to me.

At a gun show in the parking lot was getting out of my truck saw a elderly man getting out of his and he had a 25 auto raven he wanted $25, I took it. Walked to the entrance of the show, sold it for $75. Believed I owned the gun less than 2 minutes.

I started to post this same topic a few months ago. I definitely go out of my way to avoid retailers who charge this fee. Why don't these same gun dealers charge me an employee fee, retail rent fee, electric fee, etc. what ever happened to the cost of doing business. Even the local flea market vendors do not charge a fee, but it is rampant in the gun industry. The gun retail industry could gain more loyalty if they would listen to its customers. I like box stores that sell guns for this reason. They don't charge extra for my cc.

My West Germany P226 has the same serial number on the barrel, slide and frame.

Need some guidance folks. I want to buy a Sig P228, I have waited patiently now for 2+ months for one to show up either on the classifieds or by chance at a gun show. No luck so far. So I have decided to buy either a Buds Sig P228 CPO w/2 mags or one of the P228 w/1 mag that Robertson Trading Post has on Guns America. The gun purpose would likely be a keeper, shooter, and carry rotation. If I buy from Robertson's, I will likely buy cheap and I am skilled enough to finish the gun myself and I will buy a parts kit. If I buy from Buds, its a CPO. I just call Buds to ask some questions, the young guy on the phone was not much help. I know what a CPO is, but he could not tell me. I wanted to know if the barell, slide and frame matched (kinda of important to me, not sure why). He said he couldn't help. I talked to Robertson's, lots of phone help, and their barrels, slide and frame matches, and they have good picutres reflecting what they are selling on GunsAmerica. So I can pick and choose what I want. Cost is not much of a factor but is a factor to consider. Buds cost $579 + 3% CC fee = $596 delivered to my FFL. Robertson's cheaper version is $469 gun +$10 shipping, and no extra for CC, but must charge TN sales Tax since they are in Tennessee and I am too, so $525 deliverd to my FFL. Is it worth the $71 difference between a CPO and a "police trade in" gun? Since Buds comes with one more mag, allowing $25 for the mag, so I guess its more of a $46 question? The parts kit that I would have to buy would be ~$20, so now I guess its more of $26 question. So I guess it boils down to is it worth $26 to have an all matching gun that I have to gunkote fully restore (fun) vs. likely a non-matching gun but is a Sig CPO. Guys I think I have answered my own question now, but I still would like your input. Buds experience, Robertsons experience, good decision, bad decision, or should I wait for a local situation, that kinda of direction. As always, TGO members give great advice and I do listen and use the advice!

First I like it, my wife has the stick people on the van for our family, and I would love to have that on my rear truck window, but I have alwasy been reluctant to billboard anything on my vehicle from a basic NRA sticker, to the license plate that this truck is procted by a 357, etc. I am more concerned that some opportunist will associate me with having guns, and while at work, my house will be broken into or my vehicle will be broken into while at an event.

I have to disagree with Ebow1 at least for items >$300. Prices may be what they are, but to close the deal, one must be willing to negotiate. Even Sears will negotiate on a $450 appliance, they may take off 10%, or thrown something of a $30 value, but I do not pay as stated price on nothing >$300. I have even had HHGreg throw in a Blu-Ray, and the HDMI cables for $0, even though they had the best piece price in town on a Sony LCD 52", they simply wanted to close the deal and not lose my business when they realized I was going to walk. Wal-mart will budge a little on really expensive items, I know. I don't care about the guy down the road, if I am in your store, and you want my money, then you might just have to negotiate, and yes, if I don't like your offer, then yes I can leave, no hurt feelings, its simply business. My money does not leave my pocket unless it is a good deal from my perspective. Heck, I will drive to out of state or the local market to buy a $30,000 car if I can save $300 over a local dealer. My time is free, my money is not! In today's economy customers are just more scarice then they use to be. Buyers have all the leverage if they will simpy do their homework.

I dislike all sales people everywhere. Any product that I buy (>$300), I will do my homework or due diligence long before I step into a store, a car lot, ask a quote for or place an order on the internet. I am totally amazed at the lack of serious knowledge salespeople actually have about the product they sale, push, etc. I really rather for a salesperson to just be quite, courteous, and let me look at the product. The questions I do ask would likely be about how to setup the purchasing leverage, vs. product features. I have always contended that if I need the knowledge of the salesperson, then I have not done my homework, and I deserved to be taken advantage of. I have professionally worked in purchasing for close to 20 years. I have seen every type of salesperson out there. Big industry has ruined me when it comes to salesman. From the cute girl at Krystals wanting me to upsize my meal, to the guy with the gun shooters vest behind the counter that seems to know the twist of each gun barrell, and type of select steel used to forge the parts, but doesn't know the difference between gen 1, 2, 3 or 4 Glock 17, or even what does 17 mean! To the men in jackets and ties who break their neck to storm my car for driving on to the car lot to look at a price of a new car, that is so fake and just commical. I know they are making a living, but please prey on someone else, just be quite and courteous. Sorry for bashing salesmen, I have not met one no not one that I ever trusted, or believed a word that came out of their mouth. I do know there are gullible people out there, that do not value the money they have earned (or yet to earn to pay on credit) that sales people prey on, but I am not one of them. Never will be!

This Saturday from 12pm to 5pm, we will be having our 2nd annual outdoor expo in Vonore (25 min. South of Maryville, 45 min. from downtown Knoxville, an hour + from anywhere (30 Min.. North of Bentons Shooters). This year's key note speaker will be Ray Scott, founder of B.A.S.S. Many vendors, many activities for children. We had 50 vendors last year, expect 2x this year. Had close 500 people to grace the site last year, expect close to 1,000 this year. Since we are on the lake, there is a bass tourney @ 6am. Its really great fun, and the kids of all ages love it. Really it's what you want. If you have the budget I would keep what you have and buy his. If you are worried about the deal, the sig is likely valued between $400 - $500. I recently purchased a military surplus P226 for $325, finish was poor. Oh almost forgot the sig p226 is an excellent choice. First it's a classic. Even though it's 24 years old, 24 years from now it still will be a classic. It's a proven and well tested firearm. Finally, elite military and government agenticies for some reason choose them, hmm wander why, could it be the lowest bid? Don't think so, it's the upgrade premium model over standard issue Beretta and Glocks. Btw I own a 17, 92FS & P226, I am slightly more accurate with the sig. Would not let go of any. I don't like to trade, just add to the madness.

I have read many many forums, but I have not came across the "what to look for " for Berettas. Funny that you posted this, I shot my 92FS today, first time in probably 10+ years. Ran a box of 50 through it, still pretty sweet, and actually pretty darn accuate. I have been shooting Sigs and Glocks for quite a spell. Recoil to recoil, my 92FS and my Sig P226 are identicle, but my P226. vs. Glock 17, measurable difference. My 92FS was my first ever handgun purchase when I turned 21 back in 1989. Still my safe queen though. Always will be.

I know this is straying from the topic, what exactly is china's goal? A caring society for its people? You sat that by cashing in us treasuries it would destroy its economy, I would agree if it's a western style economy, but it is not, it a full fledged communist economy.
