  1. I'm asking because my wife wants a 22 to carry.
  2. So how many people actually carry a .22 semi auto for EDC? Or regularly carry?
  3. All day everyday. I even have it on my person in my home because this neighborhood isn't the safest.
  4. Armed security may carry anywhere LEO's carry as long as said armed security officer is on duty and have business in or around the specific building. I may be somewhat mistaken, but this is how it has been explained to me.
  5. He had no other calls. He actually went to taco bell afterwards then sat in Walmart parking lot for an hour
  6. This all happened on highway 41 in Springfield tn just past the dmv at the top of the hill
  7. I should add, this morning i stopped to check on the deer... all to be found were the internals from a field dressing.
  8. Last night around 9:30 pm, my friend hit a deer. He called me up and i went to where he was. We walked along the side of the road looking for the deer to see if it was still alive. After walking about 1/4 mile, we found it. back leg mangled, bleeding from mouth, stumbling when trying to stand, and panting.... we then proceeded to walk back to his truck and wait for the police to arrive. One the tn trooper last name COOPER arrivedand finished his paperwork on the damage to the vehicle we asked the officer if he was going to put the deer down. He said, is it still alive? And does it need to be put down? We said yes it does. He then responded with " its too much paperwork so im not putting it down" i then commented "i have my carry permit and i am armed, do you mind if i put the animal down?" He replied "no, that is against the law" i then requested again for him to put the animal down and again he said no, that it was too much paperwork. We then asked if tomorrow once it was deceased if we could come claim the deer and have it processed. He said no, since its in the ditch, it is against the law to do that. Does any of this make sense to you all?
  9. Sorry everyone, been away. To answer the question "How did he know I was carrying?" Because I open carry 99.9 % of the time.
  10. I knew he was wrong, and I knew that I could call his supervisor. But like I said, I did not want to cause a scene.
  11. Whilst travelling to Springfield TN, I had an interesting talk with a county LEO. He politely asked me "Do you have a round chambered?" I said "yes sir, I do. And also have my carry permit." Then the LEO told me something a little disturbing... Now, whether he was BSing me, I've no clue.... He told me that he could arrest me for having one in the chamber and asked me to return to my vehicle and unload my firearm... Yeah, I did as he asked since he was so nice about it but felt a little angry at this. I did not want to cause a scene, nor did I want confrontation privately between the officer and myself.
  12. I have heard many FTF opinions on this matter and would like to get the opinions of the TGO members!
  13. Thought I'd start a new EDC thread. This is mine! AC Commander(in owb leather) with 2 extra mags(mag pouch), Taurus pt140(ankle) with extra mag(mag pouch on holster), Kershaw assisted opener(left pocket), Spyderco persistence(right pocket), Surefire G2(carry in blachawk light holster), zippo(zippo pouch on belt), Paracord bracelet, black leather wallet, and my keys with 2 paracord keychains. Also carry an Iphone 4 in a belt pouch and wear a paracord lanyard that are not pictured(ordered a dozier neck knife to go on it) And my belt of course which is a 5.11 reversible colors(tan/black)
  14. I've followed this guys videos for some time now. It just simply amazes me how he walks around OCing an AR15 or MP5 clone.... It is interesting to say the least, but I do agree that he is just taunting LEO's for an altercation/attention. I OC everyday because it is the most comfortable to me. I tried IWB concealing and it was just so uncomfortable. Besides, I'm a larger guy that carries a full size XD45... And I cannot really afford "something smaller". If I have confrontations with LEO, thats fine but I do not ask for it. It has become second nature to me to just throw on my serpa paddle and go...
  15. Thank you everyone for clearing this up for me. Much appreciated.
  16. I've had too many people tell me too many variances to this and I want to find out 100%. I went to Red Robin in Hendersonville on Saturday night... While not posted on the entrance, there was a sign near the bar about carrying where alcohol is served and consumed. I do not drink alcohol anymore unless in the comfort of my own home, and even then it's only a beer or 2 with dinner or a small glass of Jack daniels before bed to help me sleep. So is it legal or no? I am tired of unholstering my gun to go into a restaurant just because they serve alcohol.
  17. In my humble opinion, after seeing the sign at the indian lake theater.... Postings should be CLEARLY visible on all entrances and should read something along the lines of: Gun Buster-We do not allow firearms on these premesis per 39-17-1359 with small print below this citing the law. In my opinion, if I cannot clearly see the sign, it is improperly posted. Indian lake has a sign to the left of the main entrance on one of the side doors. Had I walked into the center door where there was no such sign, I would have been carrying. Once inside, there was a sheriff and to him, I expressed my concerns. I politely asked the man " Why are there no weapon signs clearly visible at the entrance?" He responded with "There is a sign" I replied " There is 1 sign which is to the left, not on the main entrance, which is not proper" He then said something that kinda wowed me "You're right, the sign posted is not 100% legal and there should be VISIBLE signs on the main entrance. I have talked to the manager many times about this issue and about putting up the propper signage" I asked the officer "May I go with you to the manager and express my concerns?" We then walked to the front where the box office was and met with a nice gentleman in a suit. I expressed my concerns with him, explaining that I had a valid carry permit and feel that it is my right to protect myself and others. The manager(I think he was anyway), told me that he had been getting alot of complaints lately about that and told me that he was going to try and do something about it that would possibly allow permit holders to carry... Now, whether or not he was BSing me, is the REAL question.
  18. Update: Found a firing pin on Numrich site Gunpartscorp.com for $20! Now I need a slide stop!
  19. Will a standard firing pin from a 1911 work? I figured the slide stop would work with some filing but not sure.
  20. I have tried to google it with no luck Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2
  21. So I bought a Llama IX-B "parts gun" but I want to fix it. Here's what it needs as far as I know: Firing pin and slide release. I took the gun up to Guns and Leather in Greenbrier and the gunsmith basically refused to even try and fix it. Anyone know a solution to get this Llama firing again?
  22. I was reholstering because I took my weapon out of my holster becore I went inside.
  23. Was the steak n shake on Myatt One little detail I forgot to mention is that I was still wearing my work uniform with a shirt that says SECURITY on the back in large letters. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
  24. Is seeing a holstered handgun grounds for a traffic stop? As I was leaving the local steak n shake I opened my door and re holstered my glock 23. I then got into my truck and put my seatbelt on and pulled out pf the parking lot. After I got onto the highway no more than 1 minute after I pulled out pf the parking lot I see blue lights flashing behind me. I pull my vehicle over and grab my wallet beside me and prepare to show my carry permit and license. The officer stepped out with his weapon drawn and told me to get out with my hands on my head. I obliged.... he instructed me to slowly walk back towards his voice, I obliged once again. When I got to the back pf my truck the officer disarmed me, unloaded the gun and latest it on his hood. I asked why he pulled me over he said because he saw the gun at the restaurant. I then informed him that I had my carry permit and was not doing anything illegal. He asked why I was out so late with a gun on me. I replied, its really not any of your business but if you must know I just got off work and I carry my gun wherever legal. I then asked if seeing a HOLSTERED handgun was grounds for a stop. He then handed my unloaded weapon back and harshly said you need to get out of here before you piss me off. I asked for his name and told him I would be filing a complaint with his supervisor tomorrow and then I left. Was I in the right here? Were my actions as they should have been?
