The Ed Brown mag exchange program is still going on. That's how I ended up with a bunch of their mags. Basically, you send them your junk 1911 mags and they'll sell you theirs for either $10 or $15 bucks depending on stainless or black nitride.
Over the years I'd collected a whole pile of junker 1911 mags. Sent 'em in and got a brand new mags cheap. Got a bunch of .45s and a few 9mm. Unfortunately, they were out of .38 Super at that time. But it was still worth it.
So far they've been completely reliable. Good range mags.

But I'll still only use Wilson for carry.
Id be all over it if I had any old mags to send in. Thats a good deal for sure

Those waters might get a bit murky, it's been a bit since I read up on the TCA about protecting livestock (there is a specific Tennessee law that allows you to do so) but I recall the wording of that law to have no stipulations about protecting livestock only during certain times of the day.
Setting out to look for coyotes after dark would be a different story. I just wish T-dubs would have overhauled their pig regs and included night hunting for them as well.
Night hunting for pigs and using dogs would be great too. Hogs absolutely tear up and destroy everything when they invade an area and the regs should reflect that

I read it yesterday, and thought to myself "Wow, I had no idea it was illegal to shoot coyotes at night before" They are treated as a pest around here and I always thought it was open season day or night on anything that would harrass my livestock or dogs

Good luck getting by the phalanx of stealth dealer/buyers at the door. They hang on you like hemorrhoids.
That is irritating. A good solid resting bitch face and a "no thanks" seems to work best

I went for a couple hours today. Decent little show. Good mox of new and used guns. As mentioned prices ran from decent to high, especially on the older or collectible type stuff. Less junk vendors this time it seems

Just traded into a S&W Performance Center 1911 and wondering what brand mags people prefer? Google fetches a million opinions, but I generally trust the knowledge base here more than the average forum. And do you have a preference where you order from or know of a place that regularly runs good deals on them?

Gun owners pretending they weren't in business are the ones who brought this down. As long as the background check system isn't a bogged down mess, I don't see this going away. As @JohnSutton1980explained pretty well, Congress ceded this authority to the executive branch...they had fundraising to attend to, I'm sure. Better to have something you pretend to care about when asking folks for money.
I hate to say it because I despise the ATF and think they should be abolished, but you're not wrong. You see them at every gun show, guy has 6 tables full of guns, lots of NIB and never been fired stuff and a big sign telling the world that he isnt doing background checks. Lots of reporters and anti gun activists at the gunshows just looking for their next blog post

How are the Miculek grips? I have the same revolver was thinking of trying them.
They have a good feel, but just didnt work for me. My pops and brother in law loved them, I didnt hate them by any means but did prefer the stock magnas. I like panel style grips on most guns but wanted to try something different. I actually have those for sale seperate here if your interested. Say $80 shipped? Thats about a $20 discount off what i paid from amazon, they have been carried twice and had one short range session. No marks, scuffs or scratches and in the orginal packaging

Looking to move my S&W Model 22-4, 4" N frame in .45 acp. Includes a dozen moon clips, two simply rugged holsters, 1 in plain tan and 1 in black gator with IWB straps, and a set of Houge Miculek grips. $1200 cash, my only trade interest would be a high end 1911, especially one made by Standard Manufacturing. Gun is in great shape with no rust, scuffs or scratches.

Interested in Benelli and Beretta shotguns in 12 gauge, or an old Sweet Sixteen. Also Interested in 1911s.

New Kusiak Leather AIWB first impressions
in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Posted
So I recently added a S&W PC 1911 commander and want to use it as a daily carry. A good holster is probably the biggest part of that equation of carrying a firearm comfortably on a regular basis so I went looking for something high quality. I remembered a member here posting a Kusiak that he had for a 2011 style pistol and being impressed with the minimal design and quality look so I ordered one up. Luckily they had an American IWB with a carbon fiber wing, setup for a 4.25 1911 in their in stock ready to ship section. Holster arrived exactly a week to the day after ordering, shipped USPS. It came in a plain box, packaged in a draw string bag with a card that has break in instructions. Initial impressions are super high quality, thick leather, with a very tight fit that Ive come to expect from custom leather holsters. They always break in to the perfect amount of retention when they start out super tight. I wrapped the pistol in a grocery bag, unloaded of course, and Ive been wearing it around the house since. It has already started to form to my body and get more comfortable. I did use a Nike air insole for a wedge, Ive tried several different wedges at different times and this insole has rode the back of at least 4 holsters and works like a charm. I use velcro to mount it so it can be easily removed and no permanent modifications. I plan to carry with it every day for the next month and Ill do an update at that point to let everyone know how its holding up.
