  1. Do you guys know a site where one can find the best deal on bulk 9mm and 45acp range/practice ammo? I am growing tired of purchasing the 50 box, 50 box, 50 box at 15-$20 per... Thank you in advance, Newman jnewman21 at yahoo.com
  2. is it really that easy? Crayon? That just seems too easy. Do you melt the crayon or just rub on a regular white crayon? No nail polish?
  3. Hello friends, Just purchased a new Springfield XD9 subcompact and would like to color in the lettering on top and sides with white. I have seen this on Glocks and Springfields and think it really looks great! My question, how do I do this? What kind of paint? How do I do it? Thanks in advance, Newman jnewman21 at yahoo.com
  4. New Member here and wanted to say hello. Purchased a brand new Ruger SR9C last week and have already had to send it back to Ruger to fix.... Read all great reviews on the SR9C and it being made in USA and great customer service, but the pistol continuously had failure to feed and trigger reset problems. Shot the pistol 300 times and ran 3 different manufactured ammo through it... Anyways, I have faith that Ruger will make it right. It was not a pistol I could rely on at all though at this point. Hope to have a better beginning with it when it returns. I am somewhat new to shooting although years ago I did own many rifles and pistols (many to me at least). Pistols included a .22 revolver, a 357 revolver, a 45 stainless Taurus and a P89 Ruger 9mm. I did not have much time to shoot them in the past though and made the mistake of selling them all about 8-10 years ago. So I am starting back and hungry as ever to become a responsible carrying citizen. I am also teaching my kids how to shoot (mainly rifles currently) but want them to be aware of them as much as possible. I am going to take the Hangun Carry Permit class in 2 weeks and am looking forward to it. I think I will want to take some self defense classes also for the pistol. IMO, It seems the world is getting worse and worse with crime and I want to protect my family not only at home but wherever we go. More to come. Thanks, Newman btw, if anyone lives in Christiana or Murfreesboro area and has any land to practice shooting, I would LOVE to hear from you.
  5. Going to be purchasing a Ruger SR9C next week and want to know what ammo I should purchase for practicing at the range or if it even matters. Does the specific "grain" matter a lot? Also, for home protection, which specific round would work best? Thanks in advance, Newman
  6. Research and word of mouth tells me to hold off on the Beretta's.... My preference in the need/want for a manual safety cancels out the Springer... Might be going to the Ruger SR9C. I have not seen anything negative about this gun at all and it feels great in my hand. Thanks to all for the replies, Newman
  7. Wants: To carry concealed. Not a full size. Not terribly heavy. Comfortable to wear (not in pocket). 9mm preferred (so wife can use at home and range if needed) but will still provide great power. Something around or under $500 I am thinking that the Springfield will not be as "safe" to carry, due to the lack of safety features (no manual).
  8. drwright6, How are you liking your PX4 Storm SC 9mm? I am thinking about getting one. Thanks, Newman
  9. Need your thoughts and advice on an upcoming purchase: Which do you prefer and why: Springfield XDM 3.8 Compact 9mm or Beretta PX4 Storm Sub Compact 9mm? About me, I have mostly shot rifles and shotguns and about a year worth of pistols (9mm and 45's). I will be going next week to get my carry license and looking to purchase a carry pistol and looking at the 2 pistols above. I have rented and tried out the XDM Compact 3.8 9mm and liked it, but see some great reviews about the Beretta PX4 Storm Sub Compact 9mm also. No one here has the PX4 that I can try out though. They are 2 really different guns and wanted to know if anyone has some suggestions, thoughts and ideas to help me with my purchase. I am sure I will have some follow up questions as your thoughts come in. Thanks, Newman
