  1. My wife and I retook the class this past weekend with Instructor Tim Guy and both recieved our completion certificate the same day. So pleased!!! Got fingerprinted today. Now the wait but I so pleased. Tim Guy is the best in my book!!! Hands down!
  2. Sorry. Please see my other post in the category. Link listed above from reply from another member. -tripledigit: I believe they were certified before, but it was taken away and he provided a class when not certified while trying to get recertified. He should have NEVER provided the class and was dishonest from the start.

Admin Note: See this thread for more details on OP's complaint. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/52599-so-i-took-the-hangun-carry-permit-class/page__st__40#entry821947 It appears to be a legitimate complaint, however this post SHOULD have contained more info than just what was presented above.

  5. Come to find out this guys was not certified to provide the class in the beginning and led everyone on that he was and that it took time to get the results of the test. 5 weeks after I took the class, still no certification or refund. This outfit is BAD News!! Buyer BEWARE!
  6. I did do research and he had a valid business card, website, etc. Now, no website, nothing. This guy actually drives a full size white suv decaled with his business logos and phone numbers in Murfreesboro. Makes me sick to even think about this crap any more.
  7. Still no money refund in the mail. If not received by tomorrow, all bets are off on why I will do!
  8. about 15 people in the class, video watched (state produced as far as I know), written course taken, shooting took place also 3yrd, 7yrds and 15 yrds if I remember correctly. It was a HCP course but the guy ended up not having his license if I understand correctly, or just applied for one but had some "trouble" with the previous HCP company he was with and was under the microscope by the state. This is what I understand so far. Cost was $90
  9. The outfit is actually here in Murfreesboro. Still no money refunded yet since last Tuesday. Will give him a bit longer and then will take action.
  10. Loving my XDS. I have about 150 rounds in it and it is SUPERB! Wife and kids shot is this past weekend and loved it also! Very controllable and I seem to be more proficient with it than a 9mm. Zero malfunctions at all and also eats Tul-Ammo amazingly!
  11. asked for the refund Tuesday evening. We will see
  12. Well, found out Tuesday that there is no update to this delimma, so I asked for a refund and contacted another carry permit instructor to do it all over again. This previous outfit was not ready and communication was "poor" to say the least... I hope this outfit gets their ducks in a row and does not lead people on as was done here. This new outfit was telling me how bad the original instructor had led us on and that they should be ashamed. I am over being upset. Just wanted to update you guys and gals. Thanks, Newman
  13. I like the Federal Hydrashock. Good reviews online and here. It's what I use. No second thoughts for me.
  14. thinking I might not need to say just yet..... hope he comes through
  15. I called the instructor and found out a TON of info that was to my disliking.... Not impressed at all. I should know something by Tuesday. Thanks guys for the info!
  16. Took the class from Triple E Personal Security Academy in Rutherford County.
  17. should this instructor provided us with the paperwork then and there at the class??
  18. Took the handgun carry permit class 4 weeks ago and have still not received ANY paperwork yet from the DOS. I did not think it would take this much time just to receive the yellow slip of paper in the mail saying I passed and to go get fingerprinted, etc. I thought that this part was less time consuming and that the real "wait" comes after you get fingerprinted, etc and wait for the actual permit. What gives??? Is this normal or should I raise some h-ll with the class instructor and his business that provided the class? Thanks!
  19. Indeed a great find! Is the LC9 small enough for a "pocket pistol" you think?
  20. Wow! Great looking gun!
  21. Sell it for sure
  22. Purchased the Springfield XD9 subcompact about 2 weeks ago and the RIA about a month ago and love them both! They are absolutely fail proof and excellent shooters. I didn't have any reservations about the XD shooting well and being totally reliable, but the RIA 45 has totally amazed me. I have about about 200 rds in the XD with Zero fails (both with brass and steel, fmj and hollow points). Have about 400 rds in the RIA with Zero fails (both with brass and steel, fmj and hollow points). Not really a review here, but wanted to provide my initial thoughts since I am new to shooting (had some previous but very limited shooting 20 yrs ago). I have "caught the bug" now and am looking for a pocket pistol on the days I will not be carrying my XD concealed and a 22 pistol for my son to plink with. Thanks, Newman
  23. Have an RIA compact 45 acp. Just purchased some 165 gr Federal Hydra-shock personal protection rounds. Is this going to be effective or not???? Thanks Newman
