You are making it more difficult for me by posting this. LOL
I keep looking at this Sig.
Me and you both man
I may finally get one -
I'm sure most of y'all remember the sig "pistol brace"
Well KAK has made a sweet buffer tube that extends longer and has a shelf for the sb15 to push against
This combo from what I see should give you a very comfortable setup for shouldering
From what I have gathered with the ATF letter is it is not illegal to shoulder this brace as long as the straps and everything remain intact
Also it still uses the standard carbine buffer and spring
If you don't wanna go through doing a registered SBR... Seems like a decent option -
I run orbtronics or AW ... Most "good" batteries will use Panasonic cores.... Yes they are pricey but you get a very well made safe batteryYeah i'd rather not push the voltage rating either. Any recommendations on the brands I should look at?
Also a good charger is needed ... The nitecore v2 intellicharger is great and affordable -

That is an outstanding deal but I've hears lots of rumblings on the quality of those PTAC uppers, especially regarding the bores. See PSA's thread on ARFCOM. Now normally those people over there are a bunch of whiney children but there are pics of rough bores. Regardless, I'm sure PSA will make it right if you end up with one you are not satisfied with.
If I was looking to build on a budget and didn't care about a chrome-lined bore I'd snap that deal right up.
Yup I read that thread and PSA is replacing the uppers for anyone that got one with a rough bore
It would make for a good truck gun or a cheap knock around build -
If you wanna see it bad enough a legit copy (not a cam) already leaked ... If you download movies you will know where to find it
Not saying i would personally but it's there- 1

This one is tempting ... I know ptac is a "cheaper" line but @$299 with the strikefire that's a steal

They also have the nitride version for $99 which is another great slick coating

My motivation to do was based on a build I came across on another forum
Using a Bipod prone seems to make an accurate and functional slidefire stock... Plus the M60 bipod is just awesome
Here's a video of accurate hits @ 100yds from the guy that came up with this idea
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdFEQ6pKxI4
I will report back once I get a chance to try this out
My Setup:
M60 Bipod
Bushing which works for .625 barrels and allows 10 degrees of cant in either direction
Slidefire OGR Stock -
If you want a shooter here ya go

Seems like that's just asking to get your hand pinched while it cycles, but maybe not.
It actually wouldn't ... If you look at the rifle in my original post with the slidefire the stock doesn't cover the entire top portion of the buffer tube ... Either way it only requires a little forward pressure to get it rolling ... I'm sure you could just apply pressure anywhere that was comfortable -
I think there's one for sale in the classifieds here.
That was mine I sold the extra one I had ... I bought 2 bipods and 2 slidefires and realized I had no reason to have 2 of each -
I'm curious what he's pushing against to get it to work?
Top of the upper receiver...
Similiar to this.. but obviously a little more forward
-
This has intrigued me...Where can one acquire an M60 bi-pod from?
I bought 2 from ozark surplus just last week... The aren't cheap the going rate seems to be around $175-$200.... I also snagged a slidefire for $199.00 Shipped from gunup.com... They were running a sale a few weeks back...So I will have around $400 in the setup plus whatever it cost me to come up with a bushing for the bipod to work with -
This seems like a very cool way to use the slidefire stock...Seems to make it very functional as hes ringing that steel @ 100yds no problem
This guy fabbed up a bushing to make the M60 Bipod work on the AR15 platform
He has some other videos I have seen but check this out below
I am working on a bushing and seeing If I can make a similiar setup

It didn't last long

The info at that time showed no proof ... But it's
Obvious now they were speeding ... So I have nothing to say ...
I've seen cars that mangled when speed wasn't involved ... Still a bummer in my book though your mileage may vary
