  1. Any pickle recipes ya'll want to share have at it. Mom used to make some in a crock with dill and garlic and put cheesecloth over the top and skim the scum every few days. Haven't a clue about the recipe though. Mac

  2. Hi guys, I have been reading up on solar power and I think I am as confused as ever. I do know that the solar stuff is expensive, but if a SHTF or similar hiccup messes with our power would you rather have an expensive solar system and have electricity or do without?? My thoughts are for 12 volt led lights in the garage/shop and an inverter so I could charge my cordless tools. I have grown very fond of my cordless tools. Any of you have a system or are solar savvy?? Thanks Mac

  3. If a person moves from another state to Tn. and they bring in a box or 2 of ammo is that person responsible for paying a tax and if so pay it to whom. Next question what about people that reload, are the rounds they make or components they buy taxed. Just trying to understand this. Thanks Mac

  4. I work in the oilfield and we had been using Ford powestroke diesels and literally put 300K on them without turning a wrench. Then comes along the 6.0,and 5.4 Ford diesels. We keep our vehicles maintained change oil every 5K. Boss had 2006 F-350 125K, the last year we had it we spent $11,000 and it needed a set of heads $6,500. Every time we turned around 1 of them was in the shop and the repair bill would be $3,000 or more. If they signed the title over to me I wouldn't drive it home, put a for sale sign and sell it for anything over what the junk yard will give. I promise you you will regret it if you buy one. Just google up Ford diesel problems. To be honest unless you are pulling some heavy heavy loads get a good Chevy gas burner. I am thru with Fords, you can't imagine all the crap that breaks on them. I used to be a Ford man, not anymore. I wouldn't recommend one that is for sure. And btw if you get caught bypassing the egr and such you could be in for some serious fines.

  5. Metro got the bright idea of posting those around Davidson county. most knuckleheads that get locked up can't spell or read the word surveillance to begin with.

Yea that is why you see signs that read game cameras in use. Chances are if you know the definition of surveillance the sign wasn't meant for you.

  6. Keep strong brother. It is true it is much easier to pickup those habits than to quit them I smoked, dipped and chewed bacci. It has been several years since I smoked and probably 10 since I quit chewing and there are still some days it wouldn't take much to get me started back. I look at the prices today and don't know how anyone can afford them. I have definitely bought more guns and fishing stuff since I quit. Food tastes better, momma don't fuss at me burning all the money up. Life is Good!!

  7. I am an old fart and right proud of that fact. I like my 60's & 70's rock. I can relate to a lot of what has been said, bout them long haired hippies and such. But when you go to town and half of the population is still in their PJ's it kinda makes you wonder??? Symbolic you are right I work with a 30 something, he is a good guy, but I promise you he doesn't "care" about the job like the rest of us. Pride in your country, pride in your work, people used to sign their work as they were proud of what they had made, pride in your family and how you look does mean something. Hey if you want a tattoo or 20 that is cool, if you want metal stuck everywhere that is cool. I have been thinking about a hairdo and tattoo's like Ragnor on the Vikings. I guarantee you most folks will leave you alone if you look like him. Peace!!

  8. Hi guys do any of you know what the law is concerning delinquent tax sales? I have my eye on a lot but the owner and his wife died and there are like 7 heirs to the property some who have since died and I cannot contact them. I know the taxes haven't been paid in 2 years. I am going to contact a lawyer, but thought someone here may have some info about this. Thanks Mac

  9. I believe that the ills of this country are a direct result of U.S. turning our backs on GOD. I say this as a whole, not singling anyone out. Every time I think of the Millions of baby's aborted I wonder how WE will pay for this as I know that the Bible plainly states "Do not suffer the little children" I know that all those senseless murders has hurt our GOD and he is not happy about it. I always remind people how GOD allowed HIS chosen people to wander in the desert for 40 years and they could have easily walked across it in 3 weeks. If this is true, how long do you think he will let us "wander" in the desert. We have allowed the minority atheists to take GOD and prayer off of most everything, but is still puzzles me that "In God we Trust" is still on our money. The question is do we still put our trust in GOD??

  10. Static said it best. You cannot trust many people, you have to really get to know them. Unless you are family, you pretty much ain't welcome to the Party!! Not being ugly, just being truthful. In these days, you cannot trust the guy to not be casing the joint to see what stuff you got that he may want to try and take. It is what it is. Put your time into good, very good friends. I would love to have a community that I could ride the river with as well, but all it takes is 1 person running his/her mouth and the whole ship sinks. Hence the motto "loose lips sink ships".

  11. Ok I will chime in, I work for a chemical company. DO NOT use a poly drum if you don't for sure know what was in it. The poly drums are made of HDPE and they are more porous than you would think. Any harmful chemicals can leech out for years. You cannot wash them out and use them for drinking or cooking. You could use for gardens if you can see algae growing in them, that is a good thing. If you can for sure see that it contained a food like syrup for soda then you could thoroughly clean and use it. You cannot be too careful, they may look good, smell good, and make you very sick or even kill you. Be careful!!!

  12. Beautiful song sang in English. I am tired of calling Lowe's for example and asked to press 1 for English. I am sorry, No I'm not sorry I am old and set in my ways and like Raoul has said many people immigrated to the U.S.A. and made certain that their kids learned English because they knew it was going to be much easier for them to get a good job if they could communicate with the majority of the citizens of the U.S.A. If you want to speak Spanish for example go to Mexico or Spain!! And while I am on a rant, I don't feel like giving any illegal alien from any country a "FREE" pass just because. I know personally know people that have went thru all the steps to become Legal Citizens and it is not fair to them to give these knuckleheads a free pass. My $0.02!!

  13. Okay I will chime in, I too don't like any taxes however sales tax is the most fair. If you don't buy a $50,000 pickup truck you don't pay the sales tax. But the federal income tax was never ratified and is illegal. It was supposed to be a tax to business taxing only their profits. We that work for a living do not profit, we trade our time and expertise for money, but we don't make a profit on that time!!!
