  1. maybe city pd didn't want to mess with it, but they said county was "chief law enforcement officer". they never sent anything back to me and the license showed up in the mail a few weeks later.
  2. It goes to your county sheriff. I live in Robertson and sent it to the sheriff's office in Springfield. A quick web search gave me the name and address.
  3. i purchased my first XD from him a few years back. he doesn't keep stuff in stock, but will usually order whatever you want close to cost. might not be the absolute cheapest, but a quality guy to do business with.
  4. i've always been very pleased with www.aimsurplus.com good selection, fast shipping, great pricing, great customer service!
  5. yep, the very same! i remember the show where they were testing the dragon skin armor and he kept refering to the "7.62" round in the AK like it was 7.62x51!! come to think of it, when he took the shot with the Tavor they broke frame to show the target hit.....hummmm. anyway, for close quarters fighting in buildings i can see the advantages, but certainly the disadvantages to shooting offhand. cue cards!! that's funny!
  6. does it count double if i raise both hands?? i saw it on "Futureweapons" on the Military Channel last year. the bald guy, ex-seal who hosts the show shot a silhoutte target in the head at 300 yds standing up using the built in red dot. having the red dot come on when the safety is disengaged is a cool feature. really like the bullpup style and really like supporting Israel anyway we can!

very nice. paper targets on the moon beware - how big is that scope?
  8. i'm buying ammo for my sons and their kids. as much as ammo prices have gone up in the last year, i'm trying buy it before i can't afford it... if "they" ever decide to enforce this, well then i'm glad its still in sealed packs since it'll be headed into a cache.
  9. oh s***, look a bear charging me, oh (whew) I happen to have my handgun........ bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang (reload Glock 23 if necessary).... [substitute meth maker or pot growers or gangs of the previous depending on situation] black bears are being reported in middle tennessee and the drug trade is growing exponentially - better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
  10. absolutely agree... it may be two-legged or four-legged animals you must defend against
  11. thanks for the invite! i wonder how hard it would be to get a group together and start a private range??
  12. welcome.... and do you happen to have another stripped lower for a FTF in middle TN? (doesn't hurt to ask, does it?)
  13. they do have a great indoor range. i'm trying to find a 100-300yd rifle range or maybe just a nice old farmer that won't mind a little noise.
  14. classicarms and aimsurplus have been out of these for a while... does anyone know if SOG or anyone else still has them?
  15. +1 on discounts and seeing actual dealer costs. it has saved me several hundred dollars over the last couple of years..... well being able to order guns over the internet probably hasn't "saved" me any money!!
  16. happy Sunday to all found this site a week ago while looking for gun classifieds. thanks to everyone who keeps this site up - it provides a valuable service! i've had my c&r for 2 1/2 years and enjoy refinishing milsurps. i currently have (2) m44's, m38, k98, ishapore enfield, yugo sks that have been good projects. i also have a handful of .22's (marlin, ruger, springfield) that i enjoy shooting with my sons (6 and 3). the remington 1100 is tac'd out beside the bed, the CETME is ready to roll with a combat load in mags and the Glock 23 is usually on me somewhere. been buying ammo like crazy - you know, election year and all... and i'm trying to add a few more pieces before november. i usually shoot at the Gallatin Gun Club by the powerplant when my friend who is a member and i get our schedules together. i would love to find someplace closer to home (and that doesn't require a nearly impossible to get membership) nice to see so many conscientous gun owners in TN - there's hope for us yet!!
