  1. I've been using standard bench stones for years. Recently got the Spyderco Sharpmaker. Jury is still out on if I like it better than bench stones, but I would say the sharpmaker is probably a better system for someone just learning. Every "easy" sharpening system I've ever used is pretty much junk. Whatever you use, proper technique is more important than what system to use.
  2. Nice to see the courts disagree with Mayor Bloomberg on his "high capacity" soft drink ban. Wish he would drop his other pet project, but that's probably not going to happen.
  3. Yes, both legs of the spring are sitting on the pin. I'm probably just being paranoid. Thanks Dolomite.
  4. I assembled an AR lower a few months ago (before the current rush). This is my first AR. First time out, everything worked beautifully. Second time out the trigger pin walked, rendering the trigger inoperable. I got it home, broke it down, and discovered that I had installed the hammer spring incorrectly. Stupid mistake on my part, but I suppose I learned a valuable lesson. My issue is now I'm just nervous that pin will walk again even though the hammer spring is now seated correctly in the grove in the pin. There is a very slight looseness in the pin / receiver interface, but I just don't have enough experience to know if that is normal or out of tolerance. So, my question to you guys, should I just get over it unless/until the pin walks again, or would it be worthwhile to get a set of anti-walk pins? Opinions appreciated.
  5. Score! Unfortunately for most of y'all it was in Conyers, GA as I'm passing through on business. Got a bulk pack of 45 acp and a couple of boxes of Tulammo 223 (same 3 box limit). Had a decent amount of 40, 45, & 223. Nothing like stock before the current rush, but does give a glimmer of hope.
  6. Wow. Doesn't seem that long ago, but I got mine in 1997, so 16 years.
  7. The iTP A3 is a little bit bigger than my Victorinox Classic SD.
  8. I carry an iTP A3 EOS on my keychain. Not very common, but an amazing little light. Runs on a single AAA, has three brightness modes, and puts out 96 lumens. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B006K5C2EG
  9. Wal Mart in Franklin is now limiting to 3 boxes per customer as well. Unfortunately they only had about 5 boxes of odd calibers in the case as of yesterday. Hopefully the craziness will slow down soon.
  10. Hello all.  I joined TGO a while back but figured it's finally about time to make some contributions.   Born, raised and, lived all my life in Middle Tennessee.  Love it here and don't really care to be anywhere else.  I've been shooting off and on for most of my life; gun owner for about 20 years.  I enjoy shooting just about everything; rifle, pistol, and shotgun, but don't get to nearly as much as I would like.  Hopefully I can start finding a little more time to; it's just a challenge with a family with small kids, a demanding job, and all the other stuff that's in our lives.  When I do shoot, it's usually at Charlie Haffner's.  Charlie and the rest of the folks that run the range are just wonderful.   I'm looking forward to being a little more active and getting to know some of y'all better.   Take care.
